  • Patent number: 11414887
Abstract: Electromechanical lock and method are disclosed. The lock includes: a movable permanent magnet to move between a first position and a second position; a stationary permanent semi-hard magnet; and an electrically powered magnetization coil positioned adjacent to the stationary permanent semi-hard magnet to switch a polarity of the stationary permanent semi-hard magnet between a first magnetization configuration and a second magnetization configuration. The first magnetization configuration of the stationary permanent semi-hard magnet attracts the movable permanent magnet to the first position. The second magnetization configuration of the stationary permanent semi-hard magnet repels the movable permanent magnet to the second position. A magnetic axis of the movable permanent magnet is side by side with a magnetic axis of the stationary permanent semi-hard magnet.

  • Patent number: 9774177
Abstract: A cable distribution assembly is operable to reel in and pay out a cable through a bore. The alignment of the cable in relation to the cable distribution assembly adjusts to restrict contact between the cable and the bole edge. In this manner, friction between the cable and the bore edge, which may damage the cable, is restricted. A base positions adjacent to the bore, aligning the cable in relation to the bore edge. The base includes a concave contour that enables the cable to pass next to the base from a roller that carries the cable through the bore. A shaft drives the roller. Shaft regulators adjustably move horizontally and vertically along a shaft slot in a sidewall to dictate the position of the shaft and the roller that carries the cable. Fasteners secure the shaft regulator into place. A monitoring device provides information on the use of the assembly.

  • Patent number: 7882946
Abstract: A guide arrangement (1) for guiding webs in evacuatable web treatment installations comprises at least one guide roller (2) with an axis (5), whose spatial position is settable. To solve the problem of compensating in modular installations with several chambers either misalignments of the chambers relative to one another and/or to avoid completely adjustable roller frames, whose adjustment would require the repositioning of treatment and coating sources and of separating gaps on the circumference of coating rollers, the invention proposes that the guide roller (2) is supported between two pivot bearings (11, 12), of which at least one is adjustable relative to the other transversely to the axis (5). This is preferably carried out thereby that the adjustable pivot bearing (12) comprises a slide guide (15), fastened to a chamber wall (14), on which a slide (16) with the pivot bearing (12) is guided, and that the adjustable pivot bearing (12) comprises a remotely operated adjustment drive (21).

  • Patent number: 7303066
Abstract: A steering guide laterally positions material running over rollers rotating in a roller carriage. The steering guide imparts angular displacement to a support platform positioned between a grooved inner track and a grooved outer track. The roller carriage, which may vary substantially is size and shape, is coupled with the support platform. The steering guide eliminates the need for a separate rack that supports the weight of the roller carriage. The steering guide thereby reduces complexity, cost, and spare part inventories, while simplifying assembly, installation, and maintenance. The steering guide also precisely locates the roller carriage with respect to a virtual center, thereby enhancing accurate steering of the web. In addition, the steering platform may be formed from strong but light aluminum, thereby reducing inertial forces that act when the steering guide moves the support platform.

The path length of the web passing through the guide is maintained constant and does not vary from one edge of the web to the other edge. The guide includes a pair of idler rolls journaled for rotation about parallel axes and a pair of air bar guides also maintained parallel to each other. The air bar guides are mounted for pivotal movement with respect to the idler rolls to angulated positions when lateral adjustment of the web is required. A cam system driven by a linkage responsive to the angulated position of the air bar guides moves one of the idler rolls toward and away from the other idler roll to maintain a constant path length of the web passing through the guide system.

  • Patent number: 4995541
Abstract: The invention relates to a process for the guiding, positioning and motion control of bands of material and a set of guide rolls for carrying out the invention. A pivotal frame rotatable and pivotal about an imaginary vertical axis with regard to a stationary basic frame by means of a pivotal cylinder is supported on said stationary basic frame. On the pivotal frame, two lower rolls with horizontal axes are spacially supported. An upper roll with horizontal axis rotatably supported on a superposed frame is descendable into said space. The superposed frame is articulated to the pivotal frame on one end by means of uprights and on the other end by means of contact pressure cylinders. It is the object of the invention to use said set of guide rolls also as a set of driving or braking rolls in order to achieve an effective guidance and control of the band also during the entrance and exiting stage.

Abstract: A latch mechanism adapted to lock a movable pull roll support to a fixed pull roll support in a mineral fiber attenuation apparatus. A latch arm is pivotally attached intermediate its length to the movable support and is spring biased into locking engagement with a latch seat on the fixed roll support. The latching surface of the latch arm and the mating surface of the latch seat are substantially perpendicular to a plane extending through the end of the latch seat and the pivotal attachment. This causes the latch to release upon relatively low pressure being applied to the opposite end of the latch arm.

  • Patent number: 4790125
Abstract: A net dispensing mechanism for a round baler is disclosed wherein a pair of pinch rollers are cooperable with a driven feed roller to feed netting material from a source of supply into the bale forming mechanism of the round baler so that the finished round bale can be wrapped with an external layer of netting before being ejected from the baler. The pinch rollers are mounted on opposing sides of the feed roller and are adjustable relative thereto to permit proper engagement of both pinch rollers with the feed roller to allow proper feeding of net therebetween. An overcenter linkage is connected to the mechanism mounting the pinch rollers to affect a movement of the pinch rollers between engaged and disengaged positions for selectively permitting the threading of net between the pinch rollers and the feed roll. One embodiment has both pinch rollers mounted on a pivot arm which is pivitally mounted on an eccentric to permit an adjustment of the position of the pinch rollers relative to the feed roller.

Abstract: The invention relates to a direct acting pneumatic control system for controlling a dual diaphragm, or double acting cylinder type automatic guiding system. The control device and system is used to selectively adjust the position of one end of a roll relative to the opposite end, in order to adjust the position of an endless web traveling over a series of rolls. In order to adjust and control the guide roll position, it is necessary to alternately exhaust one diaphragm, and or cylinder end, while maintaining the flow of air to the opposite diaphragm or cylinder end. This in effect shifts the roll in a lateral position, effectively steering the web in the proper direction to effect the necessary web correction.

Abstract: Solenoid has a coil which when energized moves a plunger inwardly through an opening in the housing against an external biasing spring which moves the plunger outwardly when the coil is deenergized. The front end wall of the housing has a plurality of bores disposed radially to the axis of movement of the plunger, each having a ferrous guide sleeve with an open end adjacent the plunger and a loose magnetic steel ball which is freely movable therein toward the plunger when the coil is energized. The plunger has an external groove within which the balls are seated when the plunger is in a fully retracted position. This enables the balls to extend from the open inner ends of the guide sleeves into latching positions holding the solenoid against outward movement. A much smaller electric power input is required in the coil to hold the balls in latched position, and therefore hold the plunger in retracted position, than is required to move the plunger to that position in the first place.
