With Compound Movement Of Work Holder Patents (Class 227/104)
  • Patent number: 9780514
Abstract: While a substrate is placed on a substrate placement stage provided in a central substrate transfer unit, the substrate is transferred to a component loading operation unit, after operation for loading a component on the substrate has been performed by the component loading operation unit, the central substrate transfer unit is moved to the side of a first component crimping operation unit to thereby transfer the substrate that remains placed on the substrate placement stage to the first component crimping operation unit, and the component is crimped to the substrate by the first component crimping operation unit.

  • Patent number: 4932579
Abstract: A transport table reciprocates between a collator, at which it receives a stack of loose sheets, and a stapling head for stapling the sheets together. Cam followers on the table engage cam surfaces during the reciprocating table movement to cause jogging movements of end and side retaining means to jog the loose sheets into a neat stack. The stack is delivered into a gap between the stapling head and an anvil, and the stapling head moves through a first half cycle, forming a staple and clamping the stack. A gate on the transport table lifts to free the stack while the table retracts, and then the stapling head drives the staple through the stack. The gate lowers when the transport table returns to its original position.

  • Patent number: 4872603
Abstract: An insert installation machine is provided which features a power operated reciprocating quill mounted on a frame and an insert guide tube fixed to a carriage. The carriage is supported on the frame for reciprocation, toward and away from a workpiece, with the guide tube coaxially aligned with the quill. A shuttle is mounted on the carriage for transferring an insert from a stacking tube in the carriage to the guide tube in timed relation and in response to quill movements.

  • Patent number: 4829651
Abstract: A method of and apparatus for manufacturing panels for forming walls, roofs, or floors of a timber-framed residence constructed by a two-by-four construction method and of setting these panels on a pallet. A panel formed on a frame manufacturing table is supported and floated over the table by free-roller conveyors. The panel is thereafter slid by being light pushed over the free-roller conveyors of the frame manufacturing table and over free-roller conveyors which are disposed on a fixture work and which are also moved upward to the same level as that of the conveyors of the frame manufacturing table, thereby transferring the panel to the frame manufacturing table to the fixture work table. The panel finished by fixture work on the fixture work table is supported by free-roller conveyors which are perpendicular to the transferring free-roller conveyors, thereby floating the panel over the table.

  • Patent number: 4748741
Abstract: Pins are inserted sequentially into a component by an insertion punch. A shuttle reciprocally mounted to move in a direction normal to the movement of a punch, moves pins to a position for insertion. In one form of apparatus, pins are fed singly to the shuttle at a loading position, the shuttle then moving to a dispensing position where the punch grips the pin, removes it from the shuttle and inserts it. While moving from the loading position to the dispensing position, the pin can pass beneath a solder preform station at which an annular preform is placed over the pin. In an alternative arrangement, pins are mounted on a bandolier and moved by the shuttle. Pins are removed one at a time from the bandolier and inserted by the insertion punch.

  • Patent number: 4637114
Abstract: A rivet press for sequentially compressing rivets to assemble a plurality of disc-like or ring-like members utilizes a movable and rotatable carriage to position the rivets of the assembly beneath a suspended hydraulic ram. The carriage can position the assembly for compressing the rivets at any radius and in any pattern desired. The hydraulic ram provides constant and consistent pressure at an invariant compression angle to insure uniformity of spacing and compression of the elements.

  • Patent number: 4513856
Abstract: A transport device includes an elongated housing consisting of parallel spaced bars and end blocks. The housing is mounted for rotation on a pair of conveyor chains by support structure including longitudinally projecting shafts and bushings journaled on the shafts for coupling to the conveyor chain. Adjacent edges of the two housing bars define a support surface for the sticks to be transported. An elongated inner bar is confined between the housing bars for reciprocation, and has an activator rod at one end, extending axially into one of the support shafts and bearing against a cam rotatably mounted transversely at the distal end of that shaft. A spring urges an inner rod into engagement with the cam. The cam is configured to be engaged by support structures associated with the conveyor mechanism, to effect the shifting of the inner rod against the force of the spring.
