  • Patent number: 10932773
Abstract: A device for connecting body tissues has a head part, which can be pushed into a body opening and has a longitudinal axis, wherein tissue staples are accommodated in the head part in a storage position. The tissue staples have a linear main section and two engagement sections projecting perpendicularly therefrom aligned in a first plane perpendicular to the longitudinal axis. Optimal usability in the human body is achieved by rotor elements, which are pivotable about an axis parallel to the main sections of the tissue staples with each have a bearing surface for an engagement section of a tissue staple to rotate said tissue staple from the storage position into a working position in which the tissue staple is arranged in a further plane oriented perpendicularly to the first plane, and in that a slider is provided to advance the tissue staple and deform it into a clamping position.

Abstract: A portable hand-held fastener driving tool of the type which tends to keep the driver element better aligned with the head of the fastener while it's being driven. A biasing spring in the fastener track skews the directional path of the fastener as it is being driven, but the biasing spring does not noticeably affect the path of the driver element, thereby compensating for the slight movement of the tool (and driver) due to the tool's recoil. In an alternative embodiment, a magnet is used rather than a biasing spring, to skew the direction of the fastener as it is being shot by the tool.

Abstract: Fastener insertion apparatus comprises a nose having a fastener delivery passage and side entry port. Fasteners such as rivets are supplied to the nose via a fastener supply passage and a fastener feeder assembly. A punch reciprocally disposed for movement in the delivery passage drives a fastener disposed in the delivery passage out of the passage and into a workpiece. The feeder assembly comprises a gate that is movable between retracted and advanced positions. In the retracted position it is clear of the supply passage and the delivery passage so as to permit movement of a fastener from the supply passage to the delivery passage. In the advanced position it at least partially closes the supply passage so as to prevent movement of a fastener and it projects into the delivery passage through the entry port so as to retain a fastener, if present, in the delivery passage. Sensors are provided to detect the position of the gate.

The upright slot is used to accommodate an explosive array while the horizontal slot is used to disposed a trigger mechanism for discharging nails by the force of the explosive array. The trigger mechanism has a link rod, an actuation rod, a nail firing tube, and a recovery spring. The link rod is triggered by the nail firing tube in motion to bring about the stretching of the recovery spring and the swiveling of the actuation rod such that a retaining hook of the actuation rod is retained in one of a series of retaining slots of the explosive array. The explosive array is forced to move upward by the retaining hook of the actuation rod at such time when the link rod is relieved of the pressure of the nail firing tube.

Thus, the washer is closely positioned between the catch flange of the feed plate and the locking ring, thereby facilitating a user combining the washer with the nail. In addition, the locking ring is tensioned only when the washer passes through the locking ring, so that the locking ring is not maintained at the tightened state constantly, thereby preventing the locking ring from producing fatigue, and thereby enhancing the lifetime of the locking ring. Further, the locking ring is used to stop washers made of plastic or metallic material, thereby enhancing the versatility of the nailer.
