  • Patent number: 6968988
Abstract: A stopper portion (108c) is formed at an upper end of a picking plate (108) of a tape grasping apparatus. When a driver handle (102) and a clincher arm (107) are closed, the picking plate arranged at the clincher arm is pivoted to this side and a claw (108b) of the picking plate is pierced to a front end portion of the tape (T) and the stopper portion (108c) impinges on a tape guide (106) of the driver handle to stop the picking plate. When the driver handle and the clincher arm are opened, the stopper portion is detached from the tape guide and the picking plate (108) is brought into elastic contact with a tape support plate (111) to clamp the tape. When the claw of the picking plate is pierced into the tape, the tape is not applied with strong tension and the claw can be prevented from breaking the tape.

  • Patent number: 6907820
Abstract: A press apparatus for pressing connector plates into opposing surfaces of structural members which are to be secured together to form a structure such as a roof truss. The apparatus includes a frame particularly constructed to reduce stress concentrations and failure. Forces applied to the frame are transmitted in a loadpath which is smooth and free from discontinuity to inhibit concentration of stress and thereby strengthen the frame against fatigue damage. The frame includes ribs spanning and connecting an inner rim and outer rim for strengthening the frame. A powered actuator has a body which is removably attachable to the frame, and a timer control operates the press to make sure the connector plates are fully embedded.

  • Patent number: 6871769
Abstract: An apparatus for assembling a picture frame joint includes a support plate with a pair of fences mounted thereto. A pair of impact pins are slidably mounted through apertures in the support plate and are interconnected to one another via a cam linkage arrangement to enable the impact pins to be actuated simultaneously using one air cylinder. The pins are mounted on trucks that slide within respective brackets on the bottom surface of the support plate. Two mating picture frame members are loosely assembled with an impact sensitive connector therebetween. The pair of impact pins simultaneously impact the connector on its opposing ends to respectively secure the connector to the picture frame members thereby securing them together to form a completed picture frame corner joint.
