Abstract: A fastener driving device includes a frame, a fastener driver reciprocally mounted in the frame, and a trigger assembly. The trigger assembly includes a trigger lever configured to be moved to an actuated position to actuate the fastener driving device, a mode selector rotatably mounted to the frame, the mode selector being configured to move to select a mode of operation of the fastener driving device, and a trigger lock mounted to the frame, the trigger lock being movable between a first position wherein actuation of the trigger lever is permitted and a second position wherein actuation of the trigger lever is prevented. In the first position, the trigger lock engages the mode selector to prevent the mode selector from moving. In the second position, the trigger lock disengages the mode selector to permit movement of the mode selector to select the mode of operation of the fastener driving device.

  • Patent number: 7648054
Abstract: A desktop stapler uses a spring to store energy to install staples by impact blow. The force required to fasten papers together is reduced. A very compact mechanism is used, including a dual coil power spring with a nested lever. A multi-function base provides a sloped front all the way to down to a desk top surface to guide paper sheets atop the base, easy access for lifting the stapler off a desk, horizontal or vertical resting positions, and integrated soft grip under-surface. The base surrounds the rear of the stapler body to provide a smooth exterior so that the device is natural to use both horizontally and vertically. A simple re-set spring provides a smooth re-set action as the handle is raised. A staple track includes enlargement features to fit a larger staple pusher spring.

Abstract: A manual hammer tacker having a warning device involving an electric box having a buzzer or a light emitting diode (LED), and at least one battery with both conducting to each other by the electric wires to generate sound or light effect when only few U-shaped staples left during the working process. A reed switch is installed in the tacker and locates near the end route of the U-shaped staples, and is also conducted to the buzzer or the light emitting diode (LED), the battery and the metallic shell by the electric wires. Furthermore, a reed is formed on the pushing guide of the pusher assembly. At the moment when only few staples left, the reed on the pushing guide will be touched with the switch, so that the circuit will become a circuit loop and the buzzer will buzz or the light emitting diode (LED) will glitter to remind the user to reload the staples.

The base comprises an anvil, a lower and an upper part with a contact surface which has a staple opening against which a workpiece is placed. The upper and lower parts are movably connected to each other. In operation, movement of the stapling unit and the base toward each other drives a staple into the workpiece, wherein the staple crown comes in contact with the workpiece and the staple legs extend through the staple opening. Upon movement of the upper part and stapling unit toward the lower part, the staple legs are bent by the anvil into contact with the underside of the workpiece. The anvil is attached to the base by an elastic element between the lower and upper part, and is urged toward the staple opening to block the opening when the stapler is in an initial position.

Abstract: The present invention provides a nail gun hanger including a C-shaped bracket and a pivotally attached lever. An inner arm of the lever carries a tooth that engages the bottom surface of a framing member such as a rafter or joist, when the outer arm of the lever supports the weight of a nail gun. The nail gun hanger allows the operator to hang the gun on a framing member to enable the use of both hands for other tasks. When the gun is lifted and its weight is no longer supported by the outer lever arm, the tooth of the inner lever arm disengages from the bottom surface of the rafter so the gun can be removed from the rafter and used.
