Reciprocatory Or Oscillatory Motion Patents (Class 228/28)
  • Publication number: 20110073636
Abstract: A method of welding workpieces of high-temperature superalloys is provided. Welding filler is applied in a plurality of layers to a surface of the workpiece via a heat input zone and a supply zone for supplying the welding filler into the heat input zone. The heat input zone and the supply zone on the one hand and the workpiece surface on the other hand are moved in relation to one another. A polycrystalline weld seam is generated by remelting a previously applied layer of the plurality of layers. Welding parameters are chosen such that a cooling rate during a solidifying of the material is at least 8000 Kelvins per second. Further, a welding apparatus for carrying out such a method is provided.

  • Patent number: 7288742
Abstract: According to a method and a device for heating a strip-shaped carrier in an oven, a carrier is passed through the oven in a direction of conveyance. The carrier is supported by a heatable plate, which together with the carrier is moved through the oven stepwise with a predetermined step size from a starting position to an end position.

  • Patent number: 6026558
Abstract: An armature for an electric rotating machine has a plurality of outer coil elements and a plurality of inner coil elements. Each of the coil elements has end protrusions extending axially outwardly from an axial side of an armature. The end protrusions facing each other in a radial direction is joined by an arc welding. In one method, the end protrusion of the outer coil element is formed a projection at an axially inside of an axial end of the protrusion. The end protrusions are held spaced apart from each other in the radial direction while contacting only through the projection. The axial ends of the protrusions are welded by swinging the welding arc. In another method, a ring-shaped brazing material is interposed between the end protrusions. The brazing material is melted by the welding arc to weld the end protrusions, while cutting out the brazing material existing between two adjacent pairs of the end protrusions.

  • Patent number: 4513902
Abstract: Apparatus for automatic welding of complex contours made up of rectilinear and curvilinear portions. Such apparatus includes first and second movable carriages guided for reciprocation in directions parallel to each other and having a welding torch, a driving unit, and a gear rack with which a driving gear is permanently in mesh. The gear rack is permanently affixed to a first one of said carriages whereas the driving gear is mounted upon a shaft fixedly journalled upon the other of the carriages. The first and second moving carriages are mounted on first and second drive screws, respectively, which are connected to the driving unit by means of a selective motion reversing mechanism. The welding torch is affixed to the shaft bearing the gear which is in mesh with the rack. If suitable torches are used, the apparatus can also be used for cutting, building-up, and surfacing operations.

  • Patent number: 4445850
Abstract: A machine for heating elongated flat surfaces comprising an elongated supporting framework having on its upper portions peripheral ledges for supporting edges of an elongated flat plate to be heated, parallel tracks beneath said ledges running lengthwise of the framework, a wheeled carriage adapted to move in said tracks from one end of the framework to the other, heating means carried on the carriage to direct heat against the undereneath surface of the plate, and means for driving the carriage at a steady pace over the length of the tracks. This machine is useful in heating the underneath side of painted plates so that the paint may be stripped therefrom and the plates used again.
