Publication number: 20080093429Abstract: The present invention relates to a disposable container of liquid food products or a cap thereof, having two independent round straw holes to be inserted by two ends of one bent drinking tube, the diameters of the said straw holes tightly match the diameters of said drinking tube at its two ends, so that the drinking tube can be inserted and pulled repeatedly. When temporarily halting drinking, the consumer can insert the two ends of the bent drinking tube into the two straw holes for closing the container, therefore preventing contamination of ends of the drinking tube, and leaking of the liquid. When subsequently drinking the liquid inside, the consumer just need to pull out one end of the drinking tube and keeping the other end of the drinking tube remaining inserted in one straw hole. The other straw hole serves the purpose of allowing air into the container for easy access of the liquid. The drinking tube used in the present invention is both for the purpose of drinking and closing the container.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 24, 2005Publication date: April 24, 2008Inventor: Pakman Hau

Patent number: 7322492Abstract: A fixing member is fixed to a beverage pack in a state in which a through-hole and an opening are aligned. Next, the pointed end of an adapter body is inserted into the opening through the through-hole. This causes the pointed end to puncture a film and pass through the opening, but a flange serves as a stopper so that just the pointed end is inserted into the beverage pack. At this point the surrounding area is kept liquid-tight by a seal, and the adapter body is prevented from falling out by ridges provided to this. One end of a tube is connected to a joint of the adapter body. A catheter is connected to the other end of this tube, allowing a nutritional beverage contained in the beverage pack to be discharged directly from the catheter.Type: GrantFiled: December 19, 2001Date of Patent: January 29, 2008Assignee: Sankyo Seiyakukogyo Co., Ltd.Inventors: Susumu Kawaguchi, Tsukasa Yoshikawa

The tubular element is designed to pass through an orifice or an inlet conduit, made from an elastically extendable materia. The cross section of the tubular element is sized to be contiguous with the edge of the orifice or with the wall of the conduit. The tubular element also includes an annular bulge with a truncated cone shaped surface which includes a small base, which is directed towards the second end and has a diameter substantially equal to the external diameter of the said tubular element and which also includes a large base which with the external surface of the tubular element, defines a bearing surface and serves as an end stop with the conduit wall or the aperture of said container.Type: GrantFiled: July 19, 2000Date of Patent: June 18, 2002Assignee: Walk Pak Holding NVInventor: Etienne Susini

Publication number: 20020050514Abstract: A disposable container according to present invention is embodied in a thin-walled container having an integral sealing flap. Such containers include cups or other vessels for holding beverages, food or other substances. The disposable container preferably has a truncated conical shape. One example of such a shape is a typical beverage cup commonly dispensed at fast food restaurants and convenience stores. However, any shape or size of disposable container may be used, so long as the container is sealed using an integral sealing flap in accordance with the present invention. Once the container has been filled it is closed by squeezing or folding the top of the container together. The container is then sealed by folding the integral sealing flap over one side of the top of the closed container. In one embodiment, the sealing flap is then secured using conventional adhesives that are integral to either or both the surface of the container, and the surface of the sealing flap.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 13, 2001Publication date: May 2, 2002Inventor: Gary M. Patent number: 6375001Abstract: A pouch of flexible plastic sheet material has an internal chamber holding a liquid. The plastic sheet material above the liquid is in a collapsed position to allow expansion and movement of the liquid in the chamber and permit an elongated tubular extractor located within the chamber to be forced through a portion of the plastic sheet material so that the liquid within the chamber can be withdrawn through the tubular extractor.Type: GrantFiled: February 19, 1998Date of Patent: April 23, 2002Inventor: Harland J. Patent number: 6375002Abstract: A liquid product carrying plastic film pouch having a straw which is free-floating in the liquid product, is described. The liquid product contained within the inner chamber of the pouch occupies from about 60% to about 90% of the volume of the inner chamber sufficient to permit the side walls of the pouch to be collapsed against one another when the pouch is grasped by the hand of a user person whereby to orient the straw at a desired location. The pouch is made of a multilayer resin film having an inner sealant layer formed of a linear low density ethylene-octene copolymer or very low density ethylene copolymer (octene or other copolymers) such that when the straw punctures the film, the inner sealant layer forms a membrane about the straw which exhibits a self-sealing behavior so as to prevent leakage in the punctured region as liquid is extracted from the pouch through the straw.Type: GrantFiled: May 13, 1998Date of Patent: April 23, 2002Assignee: Glopak Inc.Inventor: John Edwards
