  • Patent number: 5361975
Abstract: A shipping tray fashioned from a unitary blank of corrugated paperboard or the like and which is particularly adapted for the packaging of strawberries. The tray is provided with a separable longitudinal divider, also fashioned from a unitary blank of corrugated paperboard. The end structures of the tray are so formed that each tray end presents a slanting surface, with the divider panel also exhibiting a pair of opposed slanting surfaces. The slant of all of these surfaces fairly conforms to the slant of a conventional strawberry tray, to thereby minimize looseness of the strawberry trays in the tray of this invention. The divider panel, not being integral with the tray, need not be used. However, if used, the divider is easily inserted and taken out manually. Upstanding tabs at the tray ends are adapted to be received and fit into complementary recesses in the tray bottom, so as to thereby assist in aligning the trays when they are vertically stacked.

  • Patent number: 4807563
Abstract: A pet litter box, including a device for locking the box after it has been used and re-closed, is formed from a single foldable blank. When the box is closed or re-closed it has inter-laying first and second halves, each having bottom and sidewall portions. The halves are connected to one another by a joining portion, and joining sidewalls. Each of the sidewalls of the first half carries a tab. The sidewall portions of the second half each define a diagonal crease, and the pair of joining side-wall portions each define a diagonal crease and a pair of vertical creases. When the box is fully open its first, second and joining portions define an open tray. After the system has been used the box can be re-closed and locked. During re-closing the joining sidewall portions and the two sidewalls of the second half all fold inwardly at their creases, thereby forming a pair of slots between the pairs of creases on each side.

  • Patent number: 4770339
Abstract: A ventilated grape box and a one-piece blank for forming it. The blank is formed from corrugated paperboard and is cut and scored to permit it to be folded into a stackable grape box without the need for fasteners. The upper edges of both ends of the box are provided with upstanding stacking tabs which are adapted to fit in complementary recesses in the lower edges of an identical box stacked above it. Each of two upper closure panels is provided with tabs which frictionally engage certain end panels to thereby maintain the upper closure panels closed after the box is filled with grapes. Certain end forming panels are folded to define a triangular column at each inside corner of the box, to thereby increase stacking strength.

  • Patent number: 4717023
Abstract: A convention box is folded from a single flat sheet of cardboard, corrugated board or other similar rigid material, to form a disposable yet durable attache case that can be handed out to attendees at a convention or meeting. Side panel members attached to a back panel fold over tabs that are associated with top and bottom panels to lock the box into a rigid, rectangular shape, and also provide rigidity to the side panels. The handles for the convention box are formed as handle halves each formed in a respective front and rear top panel. A slot can be provided in the rear panel for insertion of literature without having to open the box.

  • Patent number: 4676429
Abstract: An octagonal tray and one-piece blank for forming it. The tray is formed from corrugated paperboard and is provided on at least its interior bottom and wall surfaces with a wax coating. The tray includes vertically disposed posts at its end walls, the posts increasing the vertical stacking strength of the tray and also reducing the requirement that the trays be accurately vertically aligned when stacked one on top of the other. The tray is manually erected by folding along hinge or fold axes formed in the blank. Crushed ice is placed among and on fish or poultry within the tray for example, with the tray then being lidded for shipment.
