Abstract: A die cut tray insert is provided including a first face and a second face, opposite and parallel to the first face; first and second assemblies secured at one end to one of the first and second faces and configured to swing between an open position and a closed position such that a pot associated with a live sample is secured on two sides; and a third face and a fourth face, perpendicular to the first and second faces and opposite and parallel to one another, the third face configured to cover a top portion of the pot associated with the live sample and the fourth face configured to contain the pot within the first, second and third faces. The third face covering the top portion of the pot is configured to reduce spillage from the pot when the first and second assemblies are in a closed position.

Abstract: A new package or box type having an internal core or frame structure comprising of plastic or other polymer material sandwiched between two cardboard sheets an all sides of the box forming the outer walls of the box. The walls of the box containing the frame structure are more resistant to bursting or crushing than conventional corrugated cardboard used in the industry for transporting goods. Use of plastic or polymers applied to the core frame results in less material consumption than conventional corrugated cardboard. This invention yields higher package strength throughout the package structure and not just the edge of the package in order to negate the use of the double corrugated walls design as widely used in corrugated card board to achieve similar package strength quality while minimizing package weight and preserving exterior package composition of cardboard for handling purposes.

The packaging product includes a foldable paperboard blank having first and second opposing end edges and first and second opposing side edges. The blank is folded along three lateral fold lines, and is attached along the first and second end edges to define a plurality of joined walls. The three lateral fold lines include a middle fold line and two outer fold lines. First and second spaced-apart scores are formed with the blank in a margin adjacent one of the first and second side edges. The first and second scores extend parallel to the side edge and intersect respective outer fold lines. The walls cooperate to form a protective enclosure having a length dimension greater than a width dimension, and at least one open end for receiving a loaf of bread. The enclosure is movable between a collapsed position for stacking the packaging product prior to use, and an open position for storing the loaf of bread during transport and handling.

Abstract: A paperboard box with improved structure comprising a one-piece paperboard, an in-box frame, several washers and screws. On the one-piece paper board there are 2 horizontal and 4 vertical creases, which partition the board into a top section and a base section with each having right side, left side, front side and back side. The back side is where the top and the base connect with each other. On both the top and the base sections, extended panels are disposed at the two ends of the left side and the right side. Each panel has a pre-pierced hole on the center. When the paperboard is folded into a box shape, the panels are folded inwards, and other pierced holes that correspond to the holes of the panels are also mounted on the front side, right side and left side. Several curved washers with holes thereon are then arranged on the corners of the base and the top, where the front side meets the left side and the right side.

A support wall and a plurality of lateral support members define a partial enclosure for receiving the article. Corner support members secure the support wall and the lateral support members in the configuration defining the enclosure. Spacer support members extend from the lateral support members to position the article receiving enclosure in spaced relation away from the walls, the top and the bottom of the container, to provide shock-isolation for protecting the article supported, capped and at least partially received by the apparatus.

Abstract: A corner brace for a tote box assembly, wherein the tote box assembly comprises a box portion foldable from a box blank having a bottom, two side walls, two end walls and four end flaps extending from the side walls. The end walls and end flaps bonded together and have apertures into which are receivable hand holds. Four rails each having a channel and is fitted over a top edge of each said side walls and end walls. Each corner brace comprises an outer panel for extending about a corner, an inner panel integrally extending inwardly from said outer panel presenting a stackable surface and a flap, and a fastener for fastening said corner braces to said side walls and end walls. The improvement comprises said inner panel sized to fit about and enclose an end region of said side rail and an end region of said end rail and said fastening means joins said inner panel to said outer panel below said rails, clamping said rails and walls together.

Abstract: An improved tote box construction is disclosed which incorporates a unitary top rail which can be secured along the top edge of the erected walls of the tote box without the benefit of any mechanical fasteners such as rivets or the like. The unitary top rail is secured onto the tote box by a hook on the bottom edge of a channel side wall which engages downwardly folded tabs on the top edge of the walls of the tote box. The unitary top rail has a vertical lip which facilitates the stacking of multiple tote boxes according to the present invention.

Abstract: A cardboard toy or the like formed from a pattern in-the-flat and method. The pattern includes a plurality of panels each defined by a combination of straight fold lines and edges. Adjacent and parallel to each edge is an elongated slot defining a flap or tab between the slot and edge and arranged such that, when the pattern is folded into the configuration of the toy, opposing pairs of flaps and spaced slots are brought together. A length of one sided adhesive tape is then passed through the slots and around the mating flaps and adhered to form a tight retaining band securing each connection.

Abstract: A securable cover for containers is provided, the cover having top and side panels in registry with the upper, lower or both ends of the container. The side panels have opposed and aligned apertures in each corner thereof which receives a flexible strap. The strap is horizontally disposed through each aperture, around the outer periphery of each side panel, and is fastened to itself at a selected point for securing the cover in place over the container.

Abstract: A novel method is described for joining aluminum surfaces by brazing. The method comprises (a) applying as a coating to at least one of the aluminum surfaces to be joined a mixture of a metal and a brazing flux, the metal of the mixture being adapted to form a brazable eutectic with the aluminum, (b) heating the surfaces and the coating in juxtaposed relation to a temperature above the brazing alloy melting point to thereby dissolve oxide film on the surface to be joined, cause the metal of the coating to dissolve into the oxide-free aluminum surface and form therewith a brazing alloy layer and form a brazed assembly and (c) cooling the brazed assembly to form a solidified joint between the surfaces. This has the advantage of providing for the joining of aluminum surfaces by brazing without the prior formation of a brazing alloy cladding on the surfaces to be brazed.

Abstract: A container fastener system which facilitates construction and use of containers formed of tri-wall or other multi-layer corrugated paper board is disclosed. Plate and clip fastening systems particularly adapted for interconnection of panels in overlapping relationship are disclosed. The arrangement facilitates adhesive attachment of the plate components to the panels and the attachment and interconnection of the plate components by clip members without penetration of the surfaces of the panels. One plate component of each pair is provided with a retainer flange which prevents lateral separation of one panel with respect to the other so as to maintain the integrity of the container when the panels are fastened together.

Abstract: A portable beverage container carrier for an automotive vehicle is formed of a single sheet of flat, stiffened material, such as cardboard, formed with creases to create a rectangular floor, a front, a back and sides. A pair of arms extend laterally from the front and back and are adaptable for insertion into slots in the sides. The arms terminate in hook and loop fabric fasteners which are engageable with mating fabric fasteners on the inside surfaces of the side panels. The front, back and sides can thereby be folded up from the floor panel to form a tray. The front and sides are provided with reinforcement flaps that are foldable inwardly to reinforce the structure of the tray. One of the side flaps is formed with an articulated intermediate panel having apertures therein to receive accessories, such as straws and plastic eating implements. The sheet of stiffened material is formed with a detachable section that can be folded into a dihedral to form an adjustable brace.

Abstract: A nesting rim member mountable in circumscribing composite relation to the stacking end of a walled container. The rim includes an outer vertical flange portion which tapers inward from an upper edge to a nesting ledge. An inverted U-shaped channel portion beneath the nesting ledge extends over the container sidewalls which are recessed at their corners to receive pronged corner clips, if necessary. Each clip mates with the rim member when pressed onto the container walls. A U-shaped channel orthogonally projects inward of the container. The rim member may be extruded and pieced to the container walls or molded as a continuous ring.

The container is made of a flat thermoplastic board comprised of a first sheet and a second sheet held in spaced relation to one another by webbing. A single sheet may be 0.020 inches thick more or less. The container has square corners, is strong and durable. The container has sides and ends formed by cutting one sheet, leaving the other for a hinge and attaching the sides and ends by means of Velcro.

Abstract: A bracket for strenghtening a carton which has a bottom wall, side walls, an end flap and interior flaps, for holding the flaps and for supporting additional cartons in a stack of cartons, comprising a flange parallel to the bottom wall and a pair of members perpendicular to the bottom wall joined by the flange and extending substantially throughout the height of the carton to resist the bending and twisting of the carton. The members are each positioned to substantially enclose one of the corners of the carton and to abut an edge, perpendicular to the bottom wall, of one of the side walls and the end flap. Tabs are provided to align a stack and to lock the carton top closed.

Abstract: A bracket for strengthening a carton which has a bottom wall, side walls, an end flap and interior flaps, for holding the flaps and for supporting additional cartons in a stack of cartons, comprising a flange parallel to the bottom wall and a pair of members perpendicular to the bottom wall joined by the flange and extending substantially throughout the height of the carton to resist the bending and twisting of the carton. The members are each positioned to substantially enclose one of the corners of the carton and to abut an edge, perpendicular to the bottom wall, of one of the side walls and the end flap. Tabs are provided to align a stack and to lock the carton top closed.

The base plate includes a plurality of longitudinal and transverse grooves squarely intersecting with each other to form a plurality of squares. The base plate can be cut into a desired size along the grooves. Each engagement element includes a first portion, a second portion and a separation rib which is disposed at the junction sections of the first and second portions to form right angle bends. Each of the first and second portion is disposed in parallel with an inner plate and an outer plate. A hollow space is formed between the inner and outer plates to allow the edges of the base plate inserted thereinto. Each outer plate has a ridge edge inwardly extending for the outer end to engage with the grooves of the base plate.
