Abstract: A cylindrical tubular canister package has a body and ends. A tear-away strip is formed in the body by a pair of spaced partial cuts on the outside of the body. A thin strip of tear tape is secured to the inside of the body underlying and extending along the tear-away strip. A tab is formed at one end of the tear away strip. The canister package is opened by grasping the tab and pulling away from the canister body, which causes the tear-away strip to be severed from the body to open up the canister. The strip may extend axially, circumferentially, spirally, or otherwise along the canister body.

Abstract: Various solutions for repairing and reinforcing containers are disclosed. Embodiments of the present invention provide patches or reinforcing members which may be conveniently and effectively adhered to a container to improve the structural integrity thereof, protect the contents of the container, and provide an aesthetically-pleasing repair/reinforcement of the container. A substantially-planar patch may be used to repair or reinforce a surface of a container, while patches for adhering to multiple surfaces of the container may be used to repair or reinforce edges or corners. The thickness of the patch may be substantially less than that of its other dimensions to provide a low-profile repair or reinforcement, thereby reducing subsequent damage to the container caused by snagging or catching the patch on external objects. Additionally, the adhesive may bond the patch to the container to reduce separation and withstand loadings imparted to the container.

Abstract: A sliceable product container device for sectioning a container of ice cream into equal portions. The sliceable product container device includes a container having a base wall and also having a plurality of band members forming a side wall of the container and having a base band member being securely attached upon the base wall; and also includes a plurality of peal-able sealing strips for removably attaching the band members together to form the side wall of the container; and further includes a lid being removably disposed upon the container; and also includes a fastening strip being attached to the band members; and further includes an assembly of cutting ice cream into sections for easy removal from the container.

Abstract: A pharmaceutical sublingual solid dosage form comprising a morphine salt together with excipients including a saccharide, a binder and a disintegrant. A method of manufacturing the dosage form is also described, together with packaging suitable for long term storage of the dosage form.

Abstract: A container made of double faced corrugated board incorporates a tear tape (10,27) for opening it which is secured to the inside surface of walls (1,2,3,4,22) of the container. The tear tape is arranged to be pulled through one or more lines of weakness (14,23) formed in the outside of the board in alignment with the tear tape, the one or more lines of weakness not extending through the board.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for a pull tab opening mechanism utilized in container systems for easy opening and convenient manufacturing. The method and apparatus therefor comprising a base paper stock in which a pour hole is die cut. The paper stock being laminated with layers of aluminum foil and polyethylene which cover the die cut pour hole. A pull tab system adhered to the top of the laminated structure advantageously provides an opening mechanism which does not compromise the integrity of the container and is easily manufactured.

Abstract: A paper box for packing detergent which is provided at its inner surface with a strip-shaped inlet so that the inlet closes a tear tape portion to be cut off when the box is opened and which is designed to reduce manufacturing cost, improve productivity and maintain watertightness. The paper box has four vertical wall members, top members extended from upper ends of the vertical wall members, bottom members extended from lower ends of the vertical wall members, a tear tape portion integrally formed at upper portions of three vertical wall members selected from the four vertical wall members, and a strip-shaped inlet attached to inner surfaces of the three vertical wall members such that the tear tape portion is covered with the inlet so as to ensure watertightness against the tear tape portion.

The paper box has four vertical wall members, top members extended from the vertical wall members, bottom members extended from the vertical wall members, a tear tape portion formed at upper portions of three vertical wall members selected from the four vertical wall members and beginning at a nail inserting hole formed at a middle portion of any of the vertical wall members, passing through the adjacent vertical wall member and terminating in a middle portion of the adjacent vertical wall member; and an inlet attached to inner surfaces of the three vertical wall members so as to cover the tear tape portion.

Abstract: A tear tape opening system is provided for establishing an opening in a package or carton formed of corrugated board wherein the corrugated board consists of an outside liner, an inside liner and a corrugating medium thereinbetween, wherein the outside liner has outside and inside surfaces and the inside liner has outside and inside surfaces, and the inside surfaces of the outside and inside liners face the corrugating medium. The tear tape opening system according to the present invention includes a hot melt coated tear tape adhered to the outside surface of the inside liner along the desired line of opening and a hot melt coated tear guide tape, at least as wide as the tear tape, adhered to the inside surface of the outside liner along the desired line of opening so as to guide the tear formed by the tear tape and reinforce and stabilize at least one edge of the tear along the outside surface of the outside liner.

Abstract: A paperboard carton blank including a first panel having side walls connected thereto by scored fold lines formed between a respective one of the side walls and a respective edge of the first panel is disclosed. A second panel is provided having a side wall connected thereto by a scored fold line formed between the side wall and an edge of the second panel. A seal flap is provided and extends a predetermined distance from a predetermined edge of one of the side walls of the first panel, the predetermined edge of the side wall being that edge which extends adjacent to a predetermined edge of the second panel of a carton formed from the blank. The blank also includes opposing end panels connected to each of the side walls and the first and second panels with each of the end walls having at least one die cut edge.
