Abstract: Containers are provided which provide controlled dispensing for items such as saltshakers. Such containers can be produced in a simple and economical manner and can be adapted to different types of products, such as different types of salt. Such containers are particularly useful for dispensing fine salt.

Abstract: A towelette dispensing carton is provided which includes a deck panel with an elongate through-cut slot, a front panel adjoining the deck panel, a rear panel adjacent the deck panel, a bottom panel flanked on opposite edges by the front and rear panels, and a lid panel partially covering the deck panel. Right and left side panel systems close off ends of the carton. The lid panel features curved and straight sections along a leading edge, the respective sections being formed on opposite sides of a tab projecting from the leading edge, the tab being at a lesser distance (L1) from one of right or left side panel systems than a distance from the other side panel system (L2).

Abstract: A carton blank having an outer layer of a relatively rigid material, a first inner layer of a relatively rigid material superposed over a portion of the outer layer and a second inner layer of a relatively flexible layer of a fluid impervious material is provided with first and second weakened portions so that, after a carton has been formed from the carton blank, filled with a desired material and sealed, the first weakened portion may be broken to form a flip top lid which when moved in an arcuate path will gradually sever the second weakened portion to form an opening in the carton so that an amount of the desired material may be removed from the carton. The carton also may include a feature which allows the flip top lid to be securely re-closed after initial opening of the lid.

Abstract: A box (200) for solid and semi-solid food products is formed from a blank and has a body portion, a base portion and a lid portion, the lid portion having a tear-away strip for opening the sealed box. Side panels (22) of the body portion have overlapping end flaps (34, 38) which lie across the top of the body portion and have crease lines (46) running substantially parallel to the fold line which separates the flaps from their respective panels. The creased regions are pushed inwards towards their respective panels and the non-creased region of each flap lies substantially perpendicular to the side panels to form a suspended surface. This surface may support a spoon (S) or other item and is covered by the overlapping end flaps (54, 56) on the front and rear panels of the body portion; thereby allowing the item to be sold with the food product as a single unit but without contacting the food product.

Abstract: Hard packets for cigarettes are produced from thin cardboard. To form a removal aperture, a hinged lid (18) extending on one side, diagonally off-center, is provided. This lid forms in the region of an end wall (17) of the packet a line joint as a hinged connection to join the hinged lid (18) to the remaining portion of the packet. A lid side wall (21) forms a closing or insertion tab (36), which, after the packet has been used for the first time, can be pushed into an insertion position between a side wall (14) and the contents of the packet, i.e. a block of cigarettes (11).

Abstract: A one-piece, flip-top reclosable container embodying the present invention includes an outer carton having opposing top and bottom walls, front and back walls, and first and second side walls. The first and second side walls and the front wall include a preferential area of weakness for opening the carton from a sealed form to an unsealed form. The preferential area of weakness forms a lid hingedly connected to the top wall. The top wall includes a front top minor flap hingedly connected to an upper end of the front wall. An internal collar is integrally formed with the front top minor flap. The internal collar is disposed within the carton when the carton is in the sealed form. The internal collar includes a front panel and opposing first and second side panels adjacent to the respective front wall and the opposing first and second side walls of the carton. The front panel of the internal collar is detachably connected to the front top minor flap along at least one horizontal fold line.

Abstract: A three-dimensional resealable container for dispensing powdered or particulate material comprising a top portion, a bottom portion and at least one side portion, the top portion being comprised of an inner section with a die-cut piece, an intermediate section contiguous to said inner section and provided with a hinged flap portion adapted to open and close the container with the die-cut piece secured to the hinged flap, and an outermost section with a pattern of perforations such that a removable segment of such section which covers the hinged flap can be manually removed.

Abstract: A pack, which has panels and flaps folded together for forming an enclosure having a plurality of connected sides, has a pack closure portion formed from portions of four contiguous sides in a portion whereat a first side and a second side converge to form a corner and extend between and separate a third and fourth side. The closure portion is defined from the remainder of the pack by a hinge line in the first side and by lines cut in each of the second, third and fourth sides so that upon tearing and separating the closure portion of the pack from the remainder of the pack at the lines on the second, third and fourth sides, the closure portion is hingedly connected to the first side of the remainder of the pack at the hinge line for opening and closing the pack.

Abstract: A carton is disclosed having a reclosable pour spout formed in a top panel thereof. The pour spout being formed by cooperating portions of an upper minor flap, an exterior top panel and an interior top panel which cooperate to form the top panel of the carton. A portion of the interior top panel forming a central closure pane is formed by inside and outside cut scores formed in the interior top panel defining a ply separation region therebetween which extends from a lift tab to a hinge line formed in the interior top panel.
