Abstract: A food container having at least two open cone shaped spaces is formed from a sheet folded along three folding lines. The first and second folding lines intersect at a point near or in a point along a center line of the sheet to allow upper surfaces of the sheet on each side of the folding lines to be moved against each other. The third folding line extends transversally in relation to the center line and intersects the first and second folding lines substantially at the point. The third folding line allows folding of the sheet on each side of the third folding to move the surfaces on the under side of the sheet against each other thereby forming two open cones when parts respectively on each side of the third folding line are brought against each other.

  • Patent number: 8136692
Abstract: An anti-rolling device for cylindrical containers, such as mailing tubes, has a stabilizing member with an internal aperture for inserting over a portion of the container. The outer periphery of the device is irregular, e.g., having flats, such that resting on a flat lowers the container to a stable position, and requires energy to rotate beyond the flat and consequently lift the container. The device may be slipped over a plug type cap or placed directly over the body of the container. In alternative embodiments, the device is provided in the form of a gasket, is made from a foam material, is split and resiliently grabs the container or has an elastic band holding it tightly to the container. The various embodiments may be used to retrofit an existing container. The stabilizer may be provided with one or more radial tabs, which may have burrs to grip the receptacle and/or feature a constraining ring to lock the cap into the receptacle.

  • Patent number: 8025210
Abstract: The insulated beverage container is a container, such as a coffee cup, providing thermal insulation for the user's hand. The container includes a vertically extending annular wall and a base, forming a beverage-receiving cup. A plurality of tubes are secured to an outer surface of the annular wall. Each tube is hollow and defines an air passage therein, and is further elongated along the vertical direction, having upper and lower air flow apertures formed therethrough. In use, heat generated by the beverage heats the air contained within the tubes. As the air rises within the tubes, ambient air at a lower temperature is drawn through the lower air flow apertures and the heated air is expelled through the upper air flow apertures, maintaining a flow of cooled air from the environment through the tubes.
