  • Patent number: 8991460
Abstract: The present invention relates to the description of machine-assisted production assemblies and to the optimization thereof, said assemblies having, built therein, a patented device for folding into deep coated folds, thus making it possible to create paper packaging for fast food, said assemblies all comprising a folded element from a folded paper strip 31. Said machines are modular and all comprise, upstream, an assembly of modules 5, 6, and 7 that supply a folded paper strip 31 that is then converted in a specific finishing module 8 for making, from said lidded paper strip, a packaging for a sandwich or loose product such as fries or chicken pieces.

  • Patent number: 8733621
Abstract: A method of manufacturing containers of paper material for foodstuffs, in particular pastries, wherein the container comprises a single sheet portion of flexible paper material defining a flat bottom wall and a side wall emerging from the bottom wall. The container has a side wall comprising, in section, at least one curvilinear stretch (10) for defining a rounded or convex conformation of the side wall. The method contemplates a first step for making the bottom wall (2) provided with an upper surface (2a) and a lower surface (2b), and a side wall (3) emerging from the bottom wall (2) in such a manner that in cooperation with said bottom wall it defines a holding region (21) whose bottom consists of said lower surface (2b), and a second step of overturning the side wall on the opposite side relative to the bottom wall (2) for defining a cavity (7) having an upwards facing opening in the normal use position of the container.

  • Patent number: 8613993
Abstract: The Present Invention discloses a slit web material, substantially longer than it is wide, with specially shaped slits that permit relatively easy expansion upon deployment. The specially shaped slits are referred to in the Present Application as “tilde-slits,” because they resemble a tilde mark. The cuts are arranged in continuous rows of tilde-slits. In any given row, the tilde-slits follow one-after-the-other in a linear direction. Adjacent rows of slits are parallel to each other, but are offset from one another such that a line drawn between adjacent tilde-slits in adjacent rows is not perpendicular to the direction of the rows. The invention contemplates that the material dispenses from a continuous roll. If the slits are arranged in the longitudinal direction, then the web material expands in the width direction only upon deployment.

  • Patent number: 8501302
Abstract: Some embodiments of the present invention comprise an off-set gear assembly for use in producing cushioning material and methods for using the same. Each gear of the off-set gear assembly has at least two sections. Each section includes a set of gear teeth. The gear teeth of the two sections can be rotationally off-set and this can result in the production of cushioning material with staggered ridges. Some embodiments of the present invention also comprising cushioning material with staggered ridges.

Abstract: An expandable wrapper for an ice chest includes fastening elements at opposed ends for overlapping and securing the ends to one another. The wrapper is of expandable material and in combination with the fastening means will accommodate ice chests having a large range of girth dimensions. Preferably, the material is receptive to printing of words, logos and designs to suit a user's preferences and to personalize the wrapped ice chest. In a variant, the wrapper may be a sleeve slidable mounted on the ice chest and of expandable/elastic material to accommodate the difference in girth between the bottom and the upper end of the ice chest as well as to accommodate ice chests of different sizes.

  • Patent number: 7255910
Abstract: A packing material has a plurality of separable layers of pliable material. Each layer has a region containing a plurality of domes in a pattern extending in two directions. The plurality of domes are nested together in the region. The plurality of domes each have a top, a base and a side extending from the top to the base at an angle of divergence exceeding 10°. The plurality of domes have a dome height of at least ? inch. Adjacently nested pairs of the domes have between them an overhead gap no greater than 10% of the dome height. The plurality of separable layers with the plurality of domes can be separated and disoriented to occupy a larger volume. These separable layers may be discrete layers, pleats in a web, or sections of a web.

  • Patent number: 6436511
Abstract: A cushioning conversion machine includes a plurality of laterally spaced apart upstream assemblies which advance the sheet stock material with a transversely reciprocating twisting motion and at least one downstream assembly that retards the advance of the stock material. Additionally, the upstream assemblies feed the sheet stock material at a feed rate greater than the feed rate at which the downstream assembly passes the sheet stock material. The downstream assembly thereby cooperates with the upstream assemblies to crumple the stock material and impart loft thereto, and as a further result, the crumpled stock material includes a regular arrangement of folds preferably forming a herringbone pattern.
