Abstract: A container assembly which is especially adaptable to form a final presentation enclosure is constructed from a flat blank of material, optionally having fold lines delineating a bottom, side, and top wall portions which act in conjunction with one another to enclose a space. The side walls may be connectable by joining portions constituting bellows-type folding members. From flat, the container is constructed by folding. Joining members are folded inwardly thereby drawing up respective side walls to which they are attached. The top walls are formed so as to be exposed at the top of the container to allow securing of the top wall portions by any suitable means. There is also provided a variable volume container by means of the joining members which extend into the interior of the container. The joining members act to center and protect a smaller item within the container or can be completely moved to make available the total volume of the container.

Abstract: In accordance with a broad embodiment of the invention, a novel paper product is comprised of two or more slit sheet packing material layers, each layer having its own slit pattern design to create interlocking layers of expansion sheet packaging materials. Each layer expands to create a three dimensional open netting of cells of hexagons, and the like, and is designed to have limited nesting with its opposing layer, thereby maximizing the thickness of the combined layers as compared to nested layers. Adjacent layers have differing slit patterns and can be expanded through expander type machinery such that the expansion rates of the differing slit pattern layers can be varied to deliver the same width of exiting expanded material from each layer. Preferably the differing slit pattern produce when expanded, inclined land areas that have the same number of rows per inch, but different angles of inclination of the land areas, such that adjacent layers can interlock, that is, have a restricted amount of nesting.

Abstract: A paperboard box configured in a child-resistant manner includes a paperboard tray, and includes a paperboard over-sleeve that is closed at one end and open at the opposite end, where the paperboard tray is housed within the paperboard over-sleeve, the paperboard tray and the paperboard over-sleeve are locked together by interlocking tabs and where one tab is located on the inside of the paperboard over-sleeve and another tab is located on the outside of the paperboard tray, whereby these two interlocking tabs engage with each other and prevent the paperboard box from being opened through normal force when attempting to slide the paperboard tray out from the end of the paperboard over-sleeve.

Abstract: A method of forming a packaging brace for a washing machine appliance includes providing a flat blank. The method also includes folding a left side panel and a right side panel of the flat blank inwards towards each other. The method further includes positioning a bottom panel of the blank above an opening in a cabinet of the washing machine and inserting the bottom panel into a basket of the washing machine through the opening whereby a contoured profile of the opening urges the blank to fold and form a packaging brace for the washing machine appliance.

Abstract: The invention relates to a packaged product or group of products, such as a candy, wherein said product or group of products has an elongated form, wherein the package comprises at least one film which encloses said product or group of products, and wherein part of said film extends from at least one outer end of the product or group of products, and wherein said part of the film is bent away from the direction of the axis of the elongated product or group of products back towards a part of the film that surrounds the product and is bonded therewith. The invention also relates to an easy opening arrangement for packaged products, and to an array or bandoleer of products with reduced packaging material.

Abstract: A method of preparation and composition of frozen sorbet type products containing 12-40% by volume of alcoholic beverages is presented. The ice cream type products include sherbets and sorbets. When such products are prepared according to the method herein described their texture and structure remain stable and homogeneous and no separation of alcoholic beverage occurs after freezing and during storage of the frozen products with a freezer shelf life in excess of 12 months.

Abstract: A packaging cushion includes a first liner and a second liner opposite one another and each defining an inner surface. A transverse liner axis extends normal to the inner surfaces. The packaging cushion includes a mesh bonded to and disposed between the first and second liners. The mesh has a top mesh surface and an opposed bottom mesh surface. The mesh defines a plurality of nodes and a plurality of legs interconnecting the plurality of nodes. Each of the plurality of nodes defines 1) a top node surface defined by the top mesh surface, 2) a bottom node surface defined by the bottom mesh surface, and 3) a transverse node axis extending substantially normal to the top and bottom node surfaces. The transverse node axes of at least some of the plurality of nodes are each oriented at an oblique angle relative to the transverse liner axis.

The panels are foldable to provide a housing for the recessed light fixture. A package of blanks is constituted by a pair of such sheets, each sheet having a panel pivoted against an adjacent panel of same sheet in a back-to-back relationship when the sheets are juxtaposed relative to one another.

Abstract: A method for packaging bone-in meat products using a self-adhesive bone cover wrap includes impregnating a non-woven polypropylene layer with a wax formulation. Microcrystalline wax, propylene glycol, and paraffin wax are combined to create the wax formulation. The self-adhesive bone cover wrap is particularly suitable for covering bone-in meat products including covering outwardly extending bones with the non-woven polypropylene layer precluding puncture of the bone cover wrap by the bones and self-adhering to itself to seal the meat product within.

The food isolator packaging is folded such that the second section covers the first food layer in the first deposit area and the second food layer in the second deposit area. The food isolator packaging is folded along an axis situated between the first deposit area and the second deposit area such that a perforation of the first deposit area and a perforation of the second deposit area are in alignment.

Abstract: A packaging system is provided. The packaging system may include a barrier sheet and a container. The barrier sheet may have a first half and a second half. The second half may include a perforation bisecting the second half into two approximately equal quarters. Each of the two quarters may form a pull tab near the rectangular corners. A user may easily and conveniently assemble a food product having at least one wet fixing, a first portion of dry fixings and a second portion of dry fixings, whereby the barrier sheet sandwiches the at least one wet fixing between the first and second portion of dry fixings. When ready to eat, the user may grasp the pull tabs and evenly tear apart the second half along the perforation so that the dry fixings and the at least one wet fixing do not adhere to the barrier sheet as the second and first half may be removed from the food product, whereby the dry fixings remained as dry as when the food product was made.

Abstract: The Present Invention discloses a slit web material, substantially longer than it is wide, with specially shaped slits that permit relatively easy expansion upon deployment. The specially shaped slits are referred to in the Present Application as “tilde-slits,” because they resemble a tilde mark. The cuts are arranged in continuous rows of tilde-slits. In any given row, the tilde-slits follow one-after-the-other in a linear direction. Adjacent rows of slits are parallel to each other, but are offset from one another such that a line drawn between adjacent tilde-slits in adjacent rows is not perpendicular to the direction of the rows. In a preferred embodiment, a graphic device occupies a majority of the surface of the label, where the graphic device is a drawing or photograph of the food item to be wrapped or contained. For instance, a label for a double cheeseburger would include a picture with the food item disassembled sufficiently so that a viewer could instantly appreciate the presence of two hamburger patties and two slices of cheese with the typical bun in the presence of the wrapper in the background.
