Patent number: 8079472Abstract: The invention relates to a container for bottles or the like. In accordance with the invention, it comprises a plurality of hollow cells each adapted to receive one bottle and presenting two converging external side faces and one bottom face with which the side faces define side edges, the cells being interconnected so that two adjacent cells are hinged together via the side edges such that the container presents a folded state in which the side faces of the cells bear one against another so as to give the container the shape of a cylinder on a polygonal base and a deployed state in which the bottom walls of the cells extend flat and the cells extend beside one another, with each of them remaining suitable for receiving one bottle.Type: GrantFiled: January 30, 2008Date of Patent: December 20, 2011Assignee: ZebagInventor: Zohra Gillain

Publication number: 20030234201Abstract: A gift bag includes a bottom wall and side walls joined together to form a storage chamber therebetween having an top opening. The walls are made of paper or a paper-plastic laminate and are lined on the inside with a cellular cushioning material to protect a glass bottle or other fragile gift item from damage. The cellular cushioning material is a laminated material consisting of two thin sheets of flexible plastic, one of the sheets being formed with a plurality of spaced apart pockets of sealed air cells. A string is threaded through holes formed in the side walls near the top opening so that the bag can be closed off by pulling the string. The outer surface of the walls are decorated. The gift bag can be folded into a substantially flat configuration for storage and shipping.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 25, 2002Publication date: December 25, 2003Inventors: Kumud Shah, Ashok Chandaria

Patent number: 6401926Abstract: A child-resistant apparatus for dispensing articles which comprises a housing for retaining a blister package wherein the housing comprises a dispensing aperture; optionally, but preferably, a blister package comprising at least one blister cell containing an article to be dispensed; and a substantially rigid backing sheet substantially co-extensive with, and substantially blocking, the dispensing aperture, such that pressure exerted on an exposed top edge of the backing sheet imparts arcuate flexure thereto and dislocation thereof from the substantially co-extensive, and substantially blocking position, to a position where the dispensing aperture is unblocked permitting the at least one article contained in the at least one blister cell to be dispensed. Release of pressure on the exposed top edge of the backing sheet relaxes flexure thereof such that the substantially co-extensive, and substantially blocking position, wherein the backing sheet substantially blocks the dispensing aperture, is restored.Type: GrantFiled: August 4, 2000Date of Patent: June 11, 2002Assignee: Pfizer Inc.Inventor: Julian B. Patent number: 6053317Abstract: A portable carrier for transporting necked bottles includes a tubular housing with an open end configured to receive a bottle, a lid configured to fit over the open end of the tubular housing, and a neck protector disposed within the tubular housing and defining an opening for receiving the neck of the bottle. The tubular housing preferably includes one or more sheets of a high-density, closed-cell sponge material formed into a hollow cylinder with opposed longitudinal edges, and further includes an adjustable fastener such as a zipper for selectively joining the longitudinal edges of the tubular housing together. In a preferred embodiment, straps or other types of cinching members extend circumferentially around the tubular housing at longitudinally spaced locations to permit the diameter of the tubular housing to be varied along its length to accommodate bottles of various shapes and sizes.Type: GrantFiled: May 18, 1999Date of Patent: April 25, 2000Inventors: Robert R. Patent number: 5065879Abstract: A multi-layer insulator for a beverage container which includes an externally threaded base and a main sleeve extending upwardly from the base and having a collapsible side wall. The main sleeve comprises an exterior fabric layer, an interior fabric or neoprene layer, and an intermediate insulation layer. The lid for the insulator has internal threads for screwing the lid over the externally threaded base assembly, such that when the insulator is not in use the main sleeve is collapsible into the base with the lid screwed on the base to enclose the sleeve. When the insulator is in use, the lid is unscrewed from the base, the main sleeve is extended to receive the container and the lid is inverted and screwed to the base from the bottom thereof, functioning essentially as a coaster. The multi-layer insulator also has a closure band at the upper end of the main sleeve, with the band being adjustable to accept beverage containers of varying diameter.Type: GrantFiled: January 14, 1991Date of Patent: November 19, 1991Inventor: Byron King
