Patent number: 6941982Abstract: An food holder attachable to the outside of the food, such as an ice cream cone, for capturing liquid, the liquid be captured by an absorbent material and in a plurality of channels and interconnections for maximizing the surface of the absorbent material, the channels having openings to allow the liquid to enter via gravity, but small enough that upon momentary tilting of the food the liquid will not spill out of the holder.Type: GrantFiled: May 6, 2004Date of Patent: September 13, 2005Inventors: Donald Martin Swan, George Makris

Patent number: 6237646Abstract: An ice cream cone holder and drip collector device (10, 100, 200) includes a sleeve (12, 14) having an open upper end (16). A drip catcher (18, 28) is attached to the sleeve (12, 14) and includes an inner wall (20) that extends downwardly from the periphery of the open upper end (16) of the sleeve (12, 14). An outer wall (22) can be separated from the inner wall (20) by a spacer wall (24), the inner wall (20), outer wall (22), and spacer wall (24) forming the drip catcher (18). Because the drip catcher (18) attaches to the sleeve (12) at the open upper end (16) of the sleeve (12) and the drip catcher (18) provides no surface that is parallel to the vertical plane, a plurality of devices (10) can be intimately stacked one on top of the other and packaged in high density.Type: GrantFiled: June 22, 1999Date of Patent: May 29, 2001Inventor: David L. Rodman

Patent number: 6182854Abstract: An ice cream cone and popsicle holder for catching dripping ice cream or popsicles. The holder has a container with a closed bottom and side walls. The side walls support a shelf which extends outwardly from the container and has an outer peripheral wall. The shelf also has an inner cone holding wall with drain holes located either in the shelf or cone holding wall. A hinged popsicle holder is held by either the inner wall, the shelf or the outer peripheral wall. Drain openings are provided in either the inner cone supporting wall or the shelf and extending into the container so that melted ice cream or popsicles will fall into the base of the container. The popsicle holder preferably has a pair of aligned slots for popsicles with two sticks and an opposed center position slot for single stick popsicles. The popsicle holder preferably is hinged so that it closes over the inner cone supporting wall.Type: GrantFiled: August 30, 1999Date of Patent: February 6, 2001Inventors: Matthew R. Jimenez, Rick J. Patent number: 5996802Abstract: A plurality of ice cream cone nesting sites (14) are formed on the base wall (12,12') of a carrier (10,10'). Each nesting site is formed by a nesting wall configured as a truncated cone with its diameter decreasing as the distance from the base wall increases. The bottom wall is spaced above a supporting surface on which the carrier may be placed by feet (22,22') extending downwardly from the bottom wall to facilitate grasping and handling. A lip (28) may be formed around the outer perimeter of the bottom wall to provide spill containment and to enhance gripping of the carrier.Type: GrantFiled: October 10, 1998Date of Patent: December 7, 1999Inventors: Michael F. Parker, Emma I. Parker

Patent number: 5743389Abstract: Prepared flat paper stock blank is disposed for assembly into a dual-configuration food and beverage carrier, selectively folded into an upright box with upward-extending side walls and end walls with handle panels extending from the box base around the side walls and meeting over the box as a handle or alternatively into an inverted box with downwardly-extending side and end walls with handle panels extending from the base upward and away from the side walls. When the handle panels are folded toward and around the base side walls, the carrier is disposed to enclose foodstuffs placed in the carrier. When the handle panels are folded away from the base side walls, the carrier becomes a cup and cone carrier, the box being carried inverted. One or more holes are provided in the base section for receiving cups and cones. Hinged sectors are provided at the hole perimeter to cover the hole, lightly connected until mildly urged downward to receive a cup thereby breaking the light connection.Type: GrantFiled: November 27, 1996Date of Patent: April 28, 1998Assignee: CLK Factor, Inc.Inventors: Donna Cutler, Thomas Cutler, Per-Axel Lindstrom, William Kawahara

Patent number: 5232146Abstract: A blank is provided having a first plurality of rectangular sections in side-by-side relationship separated by creases. A plurality of trapezoidal sections are positioned with one trapezoidal section positioned with the long parallel end of one trapezoidal section adjacent the end of each of the first rectangular sections, and a second plurality of rectangular sections is positioned with one end of each of the second rectangular sections adjacent the short parallel end of the trapezoidal sections. The outer two edges of the outer first rectangular sections are attachable to each other to form a first box section, and a strap is provided to surround the second plurality of rectangular sections to form a second box section. When assembled, the plurality of trapezoidal sections forms a tapered portion between the first box section and the second box section.Type: GrantFiled: August 19, 1992Date of Patent: August 3, 1993Inventor: Tino Antonacci
