Abstract: A lid covering an interior of a medical waste receptacle base. The lid includes an intermediate waste repository connected to the cover. The repository is moveable between a holding position adapted for holding waste segregated from the receptacle base interior, and a dumping position adapted for biasing waste by gravity into the receptacle base interior.
Abstract: A coin retrieval device for a pay phone includes a panel having a shaft with a retrieval lever extending radially therefrom. A guide device is pivotably connected to the panel about two pins on two ends of the guide device. The guide device includes a guide plate and a jam plate pivotably connected to the end plate of the guide plate. A gap is defined between the guide plate and the jam plate for coins passing therethrough via a coin slot defined through the guide plate. One of the two pins has a torsion spring mounted thereto which has two ends respectively connected to the retrieval lever and the guide plate. The guide device can be pivoted relative to the panel by lifting the retrieval lever, and a distal end of the jam plate is pivoted toward the coin slot to prevent coins from being inserted into the coin slot.
Abstract: A coin return mechanism for public telephones has a coin box 1 with an access door 13 and a cam 15. The access door 13 and cam 15 are mounted on a shaft 14 that turns when door 13 is pushed, and return to the their resting position when the door is no longer pushed. A pusher 3 includes a square section rod 35 having an angular deformation of 70.degree. at one end, and having a recess for housing a wheel 33 that rotates atop cam 15. The other end of the square section rod 35 has a drilled hole for receiving a shaft that supports a forked prismatic part 34 that turns about the shaft. The two arms of the forked part 34 and the rod 35 have drilled holes through which the shaft passes. A spring 36 situated on the shaft is fastened to the an end of the forked prismatic part 34 and to the rod 35. When the access door 13 is opened, cam 15 moves and causes pusher 3 to move upward and cause a cylindrical pin 67 in a coin inserting mechanism 4 to block a coin insertion slot 46.
Abstract: A lock box includes a pair of box-like base and cover structures having side and end walls configured to overlap when the base structure is nestingly received in the cover structure. A key-operated lock is carried on the cover structure and is engageable with a receiving formation provided on the base structure. Interfitting formations are provided on the base and cover structures to assist the key-operated lock in releasably retaining the cover structure in place on the base structure. The base structure has a back wall which may be fastened to a mounting surface.
