With Input Means Common To Tool Selector And Printer Patents (Class 234/35)
  • Patent number: 10185845
Abstract: A card reader may include a conveyance passage; an optical sensor; a first circuit board; a second circuit board; a first cover member; a second cover member; a first frame; and a second frame comprising a conveyance face on a second direction side of the card conveyance passage. The first frame may include a first transmission hole, and the first frame may be attached with one of the first circuit board and the second circuit board. The second frame may include a second transmission hole, and the second frame may be attached with the other of the first circuit board and the second circuit board. The first cover member may be fixed to the first circuit board so as to cover the entire light emitting element; and the second cover member may be fixed to the second circuit board so as to cover the entire light receiving element.

  • Publication number: 20100102115
Abstract: A computerized system, method, and computer-readable media implementing a method for mass producing variable shaped printed products is presented. A set of cutlines defining a shape for the ordered item is associated with each ordered item. A ganging system selects a plurality of ordered items to be simultaneously produced. Individual cutter-ready outline files corresponding to the associated set of outlines for each of the items selected for production are rendered and inserted into a gang template to generate an aggregated cutlines gang file. The gang file and at least one sheet of substrate are submitted to a cutting system. The cutting system cuts the individual finished products from the substrate sheet(s).

  • Patent number: 4257291
Abstract: A dispenser for cards which are withdrawn by customers at the entrance of a parking lot has a housing for a supply of coherent cards which are transported seriatim by advancing rolls toward an outlet opening for withdrawal by customers. On its way toward the outlet opening, each card is provided with legible information by a matrix printer which can apply such information in response to a signal from a computer while the card is in motion. The thus imprinted card then advances between the matrix and the perforating tool of a punching apparatus which applies one or more holes while the card is in motion. The matrix and the tool are mounted on a plate which is secured to a fixed bracket by a first parallel motion mechanism so that it can move in and counter to the direction of movement of the card between the tool and the martrix. The plate is pivotable about a fixed axis by an oscillating crank gear so that the tool moves along an arcuate path to which the adjacent card is tangential.

  • Patent number: 4136819
Abstract: This specification discloses a card processing apparatus which is constructed such that a card having information recorded thereon and a paper leaf are superposedly placed on card tray movably disposed in an opening formed within the housing of the apparatus and the following card processing is carried out by pushing the card tray into the interior of the housing: first, the card and the paper leaf are separated from each other and the card alone is transported so that first information recorded on the card is read by reader means, whereafter the card is transported back to the card tray to restore its initial position; next, information extraneously entered is compared with the first information read from the card and only when the two types of information are identical, urge means is operated to urge the superposed card and paper leaf, whereby second information recorded on the card is recorded onto the paper leaf.

  • Patent number: 3964672
Abstract: A punching, reading and printing machine for document cards having a hopper holding the cards in vertical disposition, card transporting means moving the cards out of the hopper into horizontal disposition in a horizontal card path and closely spaced punching, reading and printing mechanisms operative on the cards while in the horizontal path. The punching mechanism includes a row of punches extending transversely of the card path each made active by an interposer and a leaf spring actuator for the interposer, and the printing mechanism includes a row of print hammers extending longitudinally of the card path and an electromagnet and armature for each of the print hammers. The interposer springs extend longitudinally of and over the path of card travel preceding the punches, and the armatures extend transversely of the machine for shortening the machine and rendering it more compact.
