Paper And Carriage Feed Patents (Class 235/58CF)
  • Patent number: 4875634
Abstract: An improved paper tape control unit is provided for use with calculators, adding machines and the like requiring use of paper tape in roll form. The paper tape control unit supplies the paper tape to the associated machine and provides automatic, intermittent activation of a control unit drive motor to rewind used paper tape discharged from the machine. In one form, the control unit drive motor is coupled with a standard platen drive motor of a business machine for concurrent operation to intermittenly rewind the tape onto a take-up reel. In another form, the control unit drive motor is powered independently by a separate power source such as batteries with a control unit housing to rewind the used tape onto a take-up reel.

  • Patent number: 4849612
Abstract: An apparatus for permitting the viewing of a large number of entries permitted on a sheet leaving a calculating machine includes an elongate bar having a longitudinal track, a support plate having a lower end fitted in the track and an elongate fastening device connected to the elongate bar and extending transverse to the length of elongate bar. The track supports the support plate fitted therein at an angle of between 35 and 70 degrees with respect to the horizontal and has a length greater than a width of the support plate so that the position of the support plate along the track may be adjusted. The support plate includes flanges for laterally guiding longitudinal edges of the sheet supported therein. The elongate bar may be secured to the calculating machine by the fastening device at a position where the sheet leaving the calculating machine may be supported and guided by the guide plate fitted in the elongate bar.

  • Patent number: 4808800
Abstract: An electronic printer calculator containing rolls of paper outside and inside the calculator and a printer for printing out data on either of the rolls of paper. The paper rolls can be set inside and outside the calculator main body, respectively. A passage for leading the roll paper set outside the calculator main body to the printer is separate from that for leading the roll paper set inside the calculator main body to the printer.

  • Patent number: 4787567
Abstract: The invention relates to a recording medium holding apparatus to stably fix a recording medium onto which the recording is performed by a recording member by a holding member when the recording medium is used. When the recording medium is not used, the holding member is enclosed into the bottom surface of the main body so as to prevent the holding member from projecting out of the main body and becoming an obstacle. Further, the enclosed holding member is stably fixed to prevent the damage of the apparatus main body due to the vibration or the like.

  • Patent number: 4700906
Abstract: An improved control unit is provided in the form of a compact and relatively simple add-on kit for use with calculators, adding machines and the like requiring use of paper tape in roll form. The paper tape control unit supplies the paper tape to the associated machine and rewinds that tape in a continuously controlled manner while permitting relatively easy periodic reversal of tape motion for review purposes. The control unit includes supply and take-up reels driven together by a drive belt adapted for sufficient slipping motion to accommodate diametric size changes in the reels as the tape is unwound and wound with respect thereto. An adjustable platen is supported by the control unit in a position for passage of imprinted tape thereover to facilitate placement of manual edits or notations prior to winding of the tape onto the take-up reel.

  • Patent number: 4494708
Abstract: The device includes a spool and a mounting structure for mounting the spool on a machine which uses paper tape. The mounting structure rotatably mounts the spool in a manner that the spool can rest on the paper tape roll of the machine and includes elements which rest against the back of the machine. The mounting structure is adjustable so that the axis of rotation of the spool is disposed between the axis of rotation of the paper tape roll and the surface of the machine such that the spool and the mounting structure are wedged between the surface of the machine and the roll.

  • Patent number: 4492345
Abstract: There is provided an apparatus for allowing a paper tape to be unwound from a first roll by a printing unit, and for simultaneously rewinding the paper tape on a second roll. Each roll includes a hollow cylindrical core. The apparatus includes a low friction cylindrical axle means for positioning within the hollow core of the second roll, and alignment means for maintaining the axle means such that its axis remains parallel with the axis of the second roll, and for keeping the two rolls laterally aligned. Retention means are also provided for keeping the two rolls together, the retention means preferably including an elastic cord member adapted to pass in a closed loop through the hollow core of the first roll and through a central opening in the axle means positioned in the hollow core of the second roll.
