    Abstract: A writing instrument has a gripping tube rotatably fitted on a front portion of a barrel. At the front portion of the barrel, plural identifying marks having different identification characteristics, such as color, are disposed in parallel in a circumferential direction of the barrel. A window portion is provided in the gripping tube through which is visible an identifying mark selected by rotating the gripping tube relative to the barrel. When the user rotates the gripping tube to the position where the chosen color is visible through the window portion, a locking pawl on the barrel engages with a locking groove at the rear end of the gripping tube to lock the gripping tube in this position. Once locked in position, the gripping tube cannot accidentally rotate thereby preventing a change of colors appearing at the window portion even if the writing instrument is subjected to shock or vibration.

    Abstract: Accordingly, the object of the present invention is to provide a pulse meter comprising a pen body installed with a counting microprocessor, and a liquid crystal display (LCD) and a counter are installed on the proper position of the pen body. The counting microprocessor is connected with the LCD and the counting key. One hand may press a tested person or a patient for sensing the beat of the pulse thereof, and the other hand serves to press a counting key to count the times of the pulse, and thus the frequency of the pulse can be input into the counting microprocessor. Next, the counting microprocessor can derive the pulse number per minute and then display the result in the LCD. Since only a short period of pulse beat is necessary to be input the counting microprocessor. Thus the pulse frequency can be derived in a very short time and much time is saved.

The outer cylinder has a window for viewing and choosing a multiplier number and an axial slot for viewing the corresponding row of product numbers. The outer cylinder has an axial column of numbers to be multiplied which are disposed alongside the slot.

The apparatus also includes a momentary switch and apparatus for mounting the momentary switch to cause actuation of the momentary switch upon relative axial movement of the first and second elongated sleeves. Apparatus is provided for coupling the momentary swtich to the counter and for coupling the second sleeve to an associated pen. A set screw extending through the first sleeve to the elongated slot in the second sleeve to limit travel of the second sleeve relative to the first sleeve.

    Abstract: A counting or indicating ring device has indicating rings which are respectively provided with numerals or marks on a pitch circle thereof and are supported by a shaft, step advancing means spaced adjacent to one of the indicating rings to advance it step by step, operating means arranged parallel and eccentric to the ring axis and longitudinally movable to operate the step advancing means relative to the indicating rings, resetting means for resetting the indicating rings and which includes a knob to drive the shaft to rotate after pushing operation thereof, and a stopping bar spaced close to the indicating ring peripheries coacting with the pushing operation of the knob. The shaft has a click-stop spaced in the casing for stopping the shaft at a predetermined angular position thereof. The knob is also used for effecting the engagement and disengagement of the operating means with the step advancing means, with a proper angular rotation without pushing-in.
