Abstract: A display for creating at least two differently configured articles, each of which comprises at least a first component and at least a second component. The display includes a first support on which at least two of the first components are arranged; a second support, spaced apart from the first support, on which at least one second component is arranged, and wherein the first support and the second support are rotatable with respect to each other; wherein the two components on the first support are each separately alignable, but not simultaneously, with the component on the second support thereby separately creating a visual impression of at least two substantially completed articles. A method of creating at least two differently configured articles, using the aforementioned display, is also provided.
Abstract: An article (100) has a device (122), and a radio frequency identification (RFID) module (102) coupled to the device. The RFID module is programmed to receive (210) provisioning instructions from a wireless source (142), and transfer (212) to the device the provisioning instructions when said device is enabled.

Abstract: A prepaid long-distance telephone calling card has two or more distinct PIN numbers each obscured by opaque scratch-off material. Each PIN number is associated with prepaid value. A user can scratch off the opaque material for PIN numbers one by one, and the value for each PIN number expires in a way that is unrelated to any other PIN number on the card.
Abstract: An apparatus for determining a characteristic, such as body mass index number, for a person includes a housing having a panel with an edge portion, an intermediate portion, and a window formed in the intermediate portion. A member is movably secured to the housing and a peripheral portion of the member extends from the housing adjacent the panel edge portion. Indicia that indicates incremental units of a first characteristic is disposed on either the panel edge portion or the member peripheral portion. Indicia that indicates incremental units of a second characteristic is disposed on the other one of the panel edge portion or the member peripheral portion. Indicia that indicates incremental units of a third characteristic is disposed on the member and is viewable through the window. Movement of the member to align first indicia units with second indicia units causes display of third indicia units via the window.
Abstract: A hand-held instrument for calculating the measurements necessary to prepare any number of servings or serving sizes from a printed food recipe which utilizes two concentric rotating wheels, the lower one of the wheels having instructions printed thereon in a 120 degree segment and measurement data thereon for use in conjunction with said upper wheel, the upper wheel having twelve segments with alternate segments being blank and transparent and the remaining segments having measurement data displayed thereon for use in conjunction with the lower wheel.
Abstract: A mechanical annular hand held pipe bend calculator that enables a worker to calculate the angle of bend necessary for pipe given the distance between bends and the depth of offset or saddle; or to calculate the depth of offset or saddle, if given the angle of bend and the distance between bends; or to calculate the distance between bends, given the angle of bend and the dept of offset or saddle. The calculator also enables the worker to quickly calculate the amount of shrink or take up caused by having to bend pipe between two points.

Abstract: A first request is transmitted to activate a set of tags in a first state. A first set of data symbols is received. In response to receiving the first set of data symbols, a first acknowledgement symbol transmitted. An acknowledgement symbol is transmitted in response to each subsequent set of data symbols received. A second request is transmitted to activate a second set of tags in a second state when a set of data symbols is not received within a predetermined time, wherein the first state is different from the second state.

Abstract: A keyboard combined with a data storage medium is disclosed. The keyboard combined with a data storage medium comprises a housing, a keyboard and a storage medium. The housing consists of a slot and a communication means for transferring data to and from a client system, such as a portable, a handheld or a desktop computer. The keyboard is installed on the housing for inputting data, or giving commands to operate the destination client system. A storage medium is inserted into the slot for expanding the storage space of the handheld client system through the communication means.
Abstract: A lottery ticket includes an upper edge, a lower edge, opposite side edges, and a first area located adjacent the upper edge, the first area having a first set of gaming indicia disposed thereon that form lower portions of prize symbols. A second area is located adjacent the lower edge, the second area having a second set of gaming indicia disposed thereon that form upper portions of prize symbols. The arrangement is such that upon folding the ticket about a horizontal axis and aligning the second set of gaming indicia above the first set of gaming indicia, the winning status of the lottery ticket is determined if the upper portions of prize symbols register with the lower portions of prize symbols to create at least one complete prize symbol. Other lottery ticket constructions are further contemplated. A method of playing a lottery game is further disclosed.
Abstract: A method of fabricating a hand calculator utilizing die press punching to form its three parts. A circular stationary base plate is punched with a central, circular, raised, beveled portion which is then rigidly fixed to a circular stationary top plate by means of flared eyelets. Between these two parts a circular movable scale plate is movably inserted. The scale is etched with scales, and punched with a plurality of holes about its periphery to allow for pencil point movement.
Abstract: A calculator for continuously exhibiting the status of an individual's Bio-Rhythm cycles and, in particular, an individual's physical, emotional and intellectual Bio-Rhythm cycles. The calculator comprises a display panel having three dial faces corresponding to the three Bio-Rhythm cycles and each having indicia thereon defining the critical days within its particular cycle. Indicating elements are provided to sequentially scan each of the dial faces wherein the physical dial face is scanned once in a 23 day period, the emotional dial face once in a 28 day period and the intellectual dial face once in a 33 day period. A high or low critical day in any one of the Bio-Rhythm cycles is defined when the position of an indicating element corresponds to the critical indicia on a dial face. The calculator may be personalized by appropriately presetting the indicating elements relative to their dial faces based on data derivable from an individual's birth date.
