Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of processing analyte using a portable incubator apparatus. The incubator apparatus 10 has a plurality of cavities 20 each configured to receive analyte to be incubated. The method comprises: receiving analyte in each of the plurality of cavities; incubating the analyte in the plurality of cavities, the incubator apparatus being operable to control temperatures of analyte contained in the plurality of cavities independently of each other; and moving the incubator apparatus from a first location to a second location while the analyte is being incubated, the incubator apparatus being configured to maintain desired incubation conditions independently of a supply of electrical power and apparatus external to the incubator apparatus as the incubator apparatus is being moved.

Abstract: An insulated chamber having an interior chamber for storing items therein includes a phase change material to facilitate controlling the temperature of the interior chamber and the items. A heating device or cooling device may be used to melt or freeze the phase change material, which may be in various locations such as the walls of the chamber or packets which may serve as shelves and may be removable from the interior chamber with the items thereon. The packets may have recesses for receiving the items. The phase change material may be within capsules which may be within a liquid or a solid matrix. Controls may be provided to control humidity and carbon dioxide within the interior chamber.

Abstract: An intelligent minienvironment control system designed to optimize the minienvironment performance, improve the protection for the multi-million dollar equipment within a fab, and to improve the safety conditions for fab personnel. The intelligent minienvironment control system is comprised of a plurality of minienvironment control and monitoring systems (MCMSs), one such system being associated with each minienvironment in the fab. The MCMSs continuously monitor the environmental conditions within the minienvironment. Each of the MCMSs are linked together in a local area network to form an integrated fab-wide minienvironment management system. The management system also includes workstations linked to the network for storing historical data for, and allowing remote access to, each of the MCMSs in the system.
