Plural Main Valves Patents (Class 236/80B)
  • Patent number: 5944257
Abstract: A multi-way valve unit which provides low pressure unregulated gas flow and high pressure regulated gas flow in an integrated gas control system. A main and bypass diaphragm valves control gas flow through the gas valve system, the main and bypass valves being opened by pressure differentials on their respective valve diaphragms. A regulator valve and a snap valve modify gas pressure applied to the main and bypass valves diaphragms respectively. A control means actuates the regulator and snap valves based on degree of temperature deficiency sensed in a monitored space. The control means opens the snap valve to provide unregulated gas flow when low gas pressure is required, and opens the regulator valve to provide regulated high flow when high gas pressure is required.

  • Patent number: 4627569
Abstract: A pneumatic controller for use in controlling airflow in a conditioned air distribution system is adjustable to accommodate different types of damper actuation and thermostats in different systems. The four-function controller can be manually reconfigured to be a direct acting/direct reset controller, a reverse acting/reverse reset controller, a direct action/reverse reset controller or a reverse acting/directing resent controller, all using a single diaphragm valve responsive to differential pressure between total air and static air inputs. A reset unit on one end of the controller can be mounted in four different positions, two upright and two inverted, to provide the four functions, with total air and static air inputs being reversed in position when the controller is in a reverse acting mode. A differential pressure responsive valve at the heart of the system is controlled by a spring which can act as either a tension spring, for direct acting, or as a compression spring, for reverse acting.

  • Patent number: 4323112
Abstract: A system for controlling the temperature of an enclosed volume includes a pneumatic thermostat, heating means and cooling means. The thermostat has two entirely independent controls: a heating control and a cooling control. Both controls remain independently operative at all temperatures and each control has an independent set point. Whenever the temperature of the enclosed volume sensed by the thermostat raises above the cooling-control set point, the cooling control generates a first pneumatic signal which activates, adjusts and operates cooling means. Whenever the temperature of the enclosed volume sensed by the thermostat falls below the heating-control set point, the heating control generates a second pneumatic signal which activates, adjusts and operates heating means. The heating-control set point is lower than the cooling-control set point such that there is defined a range of sensed temperatures at which neither heating means nor cooling means is activated, adjusted or operated by the thermostat.

  • Patent number: 4076171
Abstract: An apparatus for opening and closing the draft hood discharge opening and vent and fuel line of a fluid fuel-fired heating device such as a domestic water heater. The disclosed apparatus includes a diaphragm-type expansible chamber fluid motor assembly positioned in the burner fuel supply line. The motor assembly is mechanically linked to a damper assembly such that the supply of pressurized fuel acts to actuate the motor for opening the damper assembly prior to the motor assembly admitting fuel to the burner. Additionally, when the supply of fuel is terminated, the motor assembly does not close the damper assembly until after the motor assembly stops fuel to the burner.

  • Patent number: 4019678
Abstract: A mixing valve wherein a body provides plural inlets and a common outlet, with a valve settable to control flow from the inlet to a mixing chamber communicating with the outlet. A fluid pressure operated piston means adjusts the valve in its control positions. A temperature responsive device orients in the path of flow from the outlet and effectively controls the positioning of the piston means.

  • Patent number: 3997107
Abstract: A servo valve control system exemplified by way of temperature controlled gas valves. Multiple slave pressure regulating valves are utilized supplying multiple burner manifolds. The first valve of the group of valves is modulated in response to temperature. The outlet pressure of each valve is utilized to bias and thereby modulate the next pressure regulating valve. The first valve, preferably is also controlled in response to an outdoor temperature sensor.

  • Patent number: 3980229
Abstract: A temperature controlled regulator in which valved air inlets communicated with air pressure sources at different temperatures control the flow of air into a mixing chamber to maintain the outlet temperature of the mixture within specified limits, said regulator being characterized in that the valve actuator has first and second chambers on opposite sides thereof respectively exposed to the pressure of the mixture and to a reduced air pressure between the downstream side of a variable area orifice controlled by a temperature sensor in the regulator outlet and the upstream side of a variable area pressure control or bleed orifice, the first-mentioned variable area orifice being decreased or increased in size by decrease or increase of the mixture temperature with reference to said specified value thus to vary the pressure in said second chamber in relation to the pressure acting in said first chamber to inversely vary the air flow through said inlets thus to maintain a specified temperature of the mixture.
