Abstract: This disclosure discusses devices, systems, and methods for attaching solar modules to roofs. The devices allow for pre-assembly of clamping devices to the solar modules on the ground and subsequent installation on the roof. End clamps may be preinstalled on the trailing-edge of modules. Module hook brackets may be preinstalled to the leading edge of non-first row modules. The system uses edge splices and loop splices to secure modules together within a row. Subsequent rows are installed by rotationally engaging the loop splices with module hook brackets. The system may use separate devices for roof attachment and inter-module attachment. This separation between roof-securing devices and inter-module securing devices allow the present system to assemble quickly and allows for greater flexibility in design, span, and module placement.

Abstract: Described are supports with devices or brackets, that are specially mounted, such as L-foot adapters, that help mount solar panel racking systems to roofs. The L-foot adapter assembly may include an L-foot adapter body and a spacer that is removable and positionable between the two sides of the L-foot adapter body. A threaded fastener extends through the first of the two sides of the L-foot adapter body, through the spacer, and threadedly engages the second side of the L-foot adapter body. The spacer limits how much the two sides of the L-foot adapter body can be squeezed together and therefore prevents overtightening.
Abstract: The temporary rail bridge (20) of the illustrated embodiment includes a bridge number (20) that is coupled to a track rail (16) by screw clamps (24). Each of the screw clamps (24) includes an internal tensioning component such as a spring (58) that allows for fast installation of the rail bridge (20) and maintains continuous pressure engagement in operation. The rail bridge (20) reduces track closure time due to rail damage and associated costs and inconvenience.

Abstract: A track expanding device is employed in a conveyorized transport system to spread apart adjacently disposed sections of track thereby tensioning an endless chain travelling with these track sections. The expanding device comprises a splice and an expander having a threaded member for engaging with the splice with each of the splice and the expander being connected to an associated one of the adjacently disposed track sections thereby tensioning the endless chain as the threaded member is rotated.
Abstract: A fish-plate comprises two sections which can be fitted, by way of a toothed surface, against corresponding toothed surfaces of two adjacent electrically conductive rails of a railway using bolts to tighten the sections towards each other. The teeth extend longitudinally, and the sections are vertically adjustable relatively to the rails to allow the fish-plate to be clamped to the rails at various heights.
