  • Patent number: 8944340
Abstract: A mounting plate fixed to a longitudinally extending rail is secured by a plurality of bolts in a substrate. The mounting plate is formed at each bolt with an array of ridges. An adjuster plate formed with a vertically throughgoing transversely elongated slot through which the respective bolt extends has a lower face formed with an array of downwardly projecting generally complementary to the ridges of the mounting plate and an upper face formed with a central recessed seat defined between two longitudinally extending and parallel edges at a predetermined transverse spacing. A gauge plate formed with two parallel outer edges spaced apart by a distance substantially equal to the transverse spacing of the seat edges and with an eccentric circular hole of a diameter substantially equal to an outer diameter of the shank of the respective bolt that extends vertically through the circular hole fits in the seat.

  • Patent number: 7766249
Abstract: A rail-carrying plate lies on an upper surface of a base. An anchor-bolt assembly has an elastomeric buffer sheet between the rail plate and the base upper surface and a bolt set in the anchor sleeve passing through the rail plate. An inner ring surrounds the bolt, bears directly on the base surface, is pressed downward by the bolt against the base surface, has an annular outwardly directed outer surface. An outer ring is transfixed by the bolt, has an annular inner surface spaced outward from the inner-ring outer surface, and bears upward on the rail plate. An annular elastomeric body between the inner and outer rings is bonded to the respective outer and inner surfaces thereof so that vertical displacement of the outer ring relative to the inner ring tends to self-center the two rings.

  • Patent number: 6149068
Abstract: This invention relates to rail anchorages that are used with all rails, but is particularly concerned with adjustable rail anchorages, which allow rail alignment to be adjusted, and which are installed on rails used by cranes. To reduce this rail movement and to help limit vertical uplift of the rail, pressure is applied to the rail flange by resilient material attached to the part of the rail anchorage that overhangs the rail flange. The object of this invention is to provide support to the resilient material in a way that its length can be increased from the bonded surface or outside of the pocket in which it is installed. The invention allows for a greater variation in rail size and rail elevation that can be accommodated with one rail anchorage type and differing lengths of the resilient material. Please refer to FIG. 12 in the accompanying drawings.

  • Patent number: 4967955
Abstract: A rail anchorage arrangement for fastening a rail, the anchorage comprises: a support structure; a body of weldable material welded to the upper surface of the support structure at a weld between the body and the support structure extending at least partially around the body and along at least 20% of the length of the body from said upper surface of the support structure; a screw-threaded hole extending into the body of weldable material from the end thereof remote from said upper surface of the support structure; a screw-threaded member screwed into the screw-threaded hole so as to be made fast in the body of weldable material, this member not being threaded into the support structure; a rail anchorage having a hole receiving the screw-threaded member so that the screw-threaded member makes fast the rail anchorage against said upper surface of the support structure to secure a rail to the support structure; the body having a lateral dimension which is at least 40% greater than the outer dimension of the thre

  • Patent number: 4821957
Abstract: A rail anchorage has a housing in which is received resilient material for bearing on the flange of a rail that the anchorage is to secure. The housing is formed to exert a wedging action on the resilient material when the material bears on the flange, and preferably also when the material is otherwise unloaded. In use the wedging action increases as the force placed on the resilient member increases.

  • Patent number: 4802624
Abstract: The present application describes a rail clip assembly, particularly but not exclusively for securing a crane rail to a flanged girder. The rail clip assembly comprises a body member (1) which has a base portion (2) for connection a rail support surface (3) and a lip portion (4) which can, in use, overlie an edge of a rail (5). The body member has a first surface (6) which, in use, extends parallel to the rail and abuts a lateral face of the rail, a second surface (8) facing away from the first surface and an elongate slot (9) for receiving a connector for connecting the body member to the rail support surface. The slot (9) extends in a direction which is generally inclined with respect to the first surface (6). The assembly further comprises a pivoting member (13) which pivots about a point which is located on the body member, the pivoting member including an aperture (14) for registration with the slot (9) and for receiving the connector.
