The process includes: determining an actual power demand presented to a utility by the consumer, and determining a current error. The current error is the difference between the actual power demand and the target power demand. A determination is also made as to whether the actual power demand is adjustable in a direction that reduces the current error. In response to determining that the actual power demand is adjustable in the direction that reduces the current error, the current error is reduced by adjusting the actual power demand. Moreover, in response to determining that the actual power demand is not adjustable in the direction that reduces the current error, the target power demand is modified.

The retaining seal member comprises a seal and is fittedly engaged within the motor mount assembly surrounding a shaft coupler. Disposed between the shaft coupler and the shaft is a second seal for cooperating with the seal of the retaining seal member to block external contaminants from entering past the retaining seal member into the housing while containing lubricants on the interior facing side of the retaining seal member.

The device includes a sensor structured to detect characteristics of the current used to power the solenoid, and to identify an anomaly in solenoid current characteristics associated with an actuator member seating against said solenoid. During calibration, the solenoid is placed in a calibration configuration and the identifiable anomaly is detected. When the identifiable anomaly is detected, the spray gun is returned to an initial configuration and the virtual needle position is reset.
