  • Patent number: 5503333
Abstract: An extension tube system for a dust particulate dispenser and a method of using the extension tube system are disclosed. The system includes a flexible duster extension tube having a central body portion with a first diameter, a first coupling end with a larger diameter, and a second dispensing end with a smaller diameter. Additionally, the second dispensing end includes a dust particulate collection region which serves to prevent dust particulates from spilling out of the duster extension tube when such action is not desired. The first coupling end is inserted over an outlet region of a dust particulate dispenser. Additional extension tubes can be connected to the second dispensing end of an extension tube to extend the reach to an area where dust particulates must be applied. A flexible duster extension tube cleaner having a cleaning element is used to clean remaining dust particulates from within the extension tubes.

  • Patent number: 5415347
Abstract: A container and distributor of water is internally provided with a bath pivoted in such a way as to empty when full. A floating piston situated inside a chamber enables water delivery to the bath at a rate regulated by varying a water head in the chamber, and an outlet opening from the chamber conducts water into the bath. A rod, insertable in the outlet opening and movable upon pivoting of the bath, prevents a build-up of residues in the outlet due to impurities in the water such that the outlet opening does not become blocked or obstructed.

  • Patent number: 5238657
Abstract: Nozzles are provided for spraying a wetting medium into the gas flow in an activating reactor. The nozzle comprises a nozzle body having a plurality of nozzles The nozzle body is surrounded by a flexible and/or porous casing and a conduit introduces a gaseous medium into the casing. The gas can be introduced in either pulses or continuously. The gas introduced in pulses causes the casing to change its form and, where a perforated or porous casing is used, the continuous gas flow forms a protective gas film around the casing, thus removing the solid material accumulated on the casing.

  • Patent number: 5207384
Abstract: In a fuel injector, a swirl generator operates to impart a tangential or swirl component to the fuel as it is expelled from the injector. The mass of the swirl generator is minimized so as to maximize the actuating speed of the injector. The swirl generator develops a pressure drop across the generator during the time the fuel is expelled which pressure drop aids in enhancing the closure time of the injector. The swirl generator provides damping to the needle valve upon both opening and closing. The swirl generator minimizes the volume of residual fuel remaining in the injector.

  • Patent number: 5172862
Abstract: A shower head has a body having a wall and forming therewith a pressurizable compartment. This wall has an inner face in the compartment and an outer face and is formed therebetween with an array of throughgoing perforations. Respective flexible tubular extensions are provided on the outer face of the wall at the perforations. These extensions can be deformed to flake off lime formations adhering to the extensions. The extensions can be unitary with the wall, in which case the wall is made of an elastomer, or respective tubular liners in the perforations having outer ends projecting past the outer face can form the respective extensions. In this case each liner can have laterally projecting inner and outer ridges respectively bearing against the inner and outer faces of the wall. Furthermore each liner has a predetermined diameter of between 1 mm and 2 mm, preferably 1.2 mm, and each extension extends beyond the outer face by a distance generally equal to the respective diameter.

  • Patent number: 5065692
Abstract: An apparatus (10) for spraying a liquid, such as a low-solids flux, onto a substrate (12), during its transit along a first path (15), comprises a spray gun (38) directed at the substrate. The gun (38) is carried by a carriage (34) reciprocated by a traversing mechanism (42,44,46) which reciprocates the gun back and forth along a second path (30) generally perpendicular to the first path (15). The spray gun (38) is reciprocated such that its spray pattern during each pass slightly overlaps the pattern made during the previous pass, thereby achieving substantially uniform liquid coating on the substrate. Each time the gun (38) reaches an end of its travel, its tip (39) is advantageously cleaned automatically by a brush (84) wetted by a solvent to avoid tip clogging.
