  • Patent number: 11839892
Abstract: A cavity cleaning and coating system for safely and efficiently cleaning and coating the interior of a cavity without requiring entry of any workers. The cavity cleaning and coating system generally includes a mount which is coupled with a movable arm of a vehicle. The mount includes an inner plate, which is coupled to the arm, and an outer plate. A shaft is coupled to the outer plate. The mount is adjustable independently of the arm of the vehicle, including outwardly, inwardly, and rotatably. A spray head is connected to the shaft. The spray head is rotatable and includes a dispenser for dispensing fluids. The vehicle is positioned near a cavity to be treated. The mount is adjusted for optimal positioning of the spray head. The spray head is lowered into the cavity to dispense a cleaning fluid and, after the cleaning fluid has dried, a coating fluid.

Abstract: Mobile fluid delivery systems and methods are disclosed. The disclosed embodiments are particularly useful for spraying herbicides on a roadside shoulder. The systems include nozzles mounted upon a movable arm extending from a vehicle. A sensor mounted upon the vehicle detects objects which the extended arm is approaching, such as telephone or other utility poles on the side of the road. The sensor signals a control unit, which directs retraction of the movable arm to avoid collision with the object, and extension of the arm after passing the object. In targeted fluid delivery, the control unit can direct forward fluid spray to the backside of the object as the extended arm approaches, lateral fluid spray as the arm passes the object, and rearward fluid spray to the front side of the object as the arm is extended after passing the object. The system can thus effectively douse the ground surrounding a utility pole, for example, with herbicide and reduce fire hazard.

The folded boom is then pivoted about a vertical axis at the mast to lie along side the side of the tractor. The tip portion includes a parallel cable in advance of the tip portion for impacting an obstacle with the cable actuating release of the latch and accelerating the tip portion away from the obstacle to prevent impact with the obstacle.

  • Patent number: 5957383
Abstract: An apparatus for controlling the relative positioning of two hingedly connected implement portions movable between deployed or working and folded or stowed positions relative to one another includes a strut like component connected between the two implement portions and in the form of an hydraulic damper or shock absorber which is extensible and retractable in damped fashion. When the connecting component is fully extended or retracted, it serves as a strut for transmitting forces from one implement portion to the other to effect movement of said implement portions to or from their working and stowed positions. At other times, when not in a fully extended or retracted position, the connecting component serves as a damper dampingly resisting relative movements between the two implement portions to yielding absorb impacts and other dynamic loads imposed on one or the other of the boom portions.

  • Patent number: 5951201
Abstract: A reflective bead dispensing apparatus which works in conjunction with any prior art airless walk behind striping equipment. This reflective bead dispensing and paint dispensing apparatus is attachable to the rear of a vehicle. Compressed air and the vehicle's electrical system control all operations. The bead dispensing apparatus has an telescoping boom capable of pivoting around the point of attachment and extends outwardly from the point of attachment. At the end of the telescoping boom is the wheeled paint carriage which contains an air compressor, air tank, warning light, flood lights, the brake/hazard/turn signal lights, paint spray gun mounts, and reflective glass bead hoppers and dispensers. The carriage can pivot around the attachment point to the boom. The glass beads are applied onto the wet paint already applied to the surface. The carriage pivots between a lowered position during striping operations and a locked upright position during relocation.

  • Patent number: 5947385
Abstract: A line striper is attached to a vehicle with a two point hitch and has a swivelable rotatable wheel mounted thereunder to support the striper on the ground. A main beam is releasably clamped and may be slid from side to side depending on operator preference. The gun boom may then be located on the desired side. A delay feature on the control allows the operator to look ahead on a sighting camera and pick the point at which he or she desires striping to start (or stop or any other operation). The controller then compensates for the calibrated distance between the sight point and the spray gun and then starts and stops the gun at the appropriate time given road speed.
