  • Patent number: 8763926
Abstract: An oil lamp-type apparatus or a Kukui pot candle device for achieving the illumination and the appearance of an ignited oil lamp. This is achieved by illuminating water flowing upward (e.g., substantially vertically to provide a flame-shaped element or small fountain of water above the pool surface) using a light source directing its light output upward through the water. The flame-shaped element has kinetic and dynamic movement similar to a flame on an oil lamp or candle wick due to the combination of the water flowing upward and the water falling nearly straight down back into a pool about the water outlet. Further, the effect is achieve by only illuminating the liquid in the flame-shaped element with the vertically upward-direct light stream and not by shining light from the side, from above, or even from an adjacent location.

  • Patent number: 8042748
Abstract: A fluid handling device, for example, a laminar jet fountain, includes a jet emanating a first stream of substantially laminar fluid. The jet fountain also includes a surface disrupter that includes a body, a water inlet, a valve, a fluid outlet, and a trajectory adjuster emanating a second stream of fluid from the fluid outlet. The second stream of fluid may be positioned to intersect the first stream of fluid and perturb its laminarity. By adjusting a valve controlling the force and volume of flow of the second stream and/or by adjusting the trajectory adjuster, the intersection of the first and second streams may be modified and, therefore, the laminarity of the first stream may be modified. By disrupting the laminar surface of the first stream, light introduced into the first stream may be caused to refract outward from the first stream and thus enhance illumination of the first stream.

Abstract: A shower head cover fixture consists of a mostly cylindrical free formed elongated device of varying size and design which eclipses and covers a shower head water sprayer. Said shower head covering fixture having and aperture at entrance of sufficient size to accommodate the insertion of a verity of shower head sprays. The paralleling opposite end of fixture having an opening of adequate size allowing the threaded connection of piping therethrough connecting a shower head thereto an existing shower arm in a shower inclosure. The fixture may be of translucent or solid manufacture composed of a variety of materials. The cover for shower heads fixture does not influence the operation of a shower head, rather it's purpose to accentuate the decorative appearance of the showering system . . . thereby enhancing and complimenting the nondescript array of shower head systems in common use today.

  • Patent number: 7407114
Abstract: An air freshening apparatus comprises a plant pot-shaped main body, an end cap body and a scent-emitting composition. The plant pot-shaped main body has a cavity therein defining an open end portion of the plant pot-shaped main body and a closed end portion of the plant pot-shaped main body. The scented air passage extends through the closed end portion of the plant pot-shaped main body. The end cap body is rotatably mounted on an exterior portion of the plant pot-shaped main body. The end cap body has a scented air passage extending therethrough and the end cap body is movable between a position where the scented air passages are at least partially aligned and a position where the scented air passages are fully misaligned. The scent-emitting composition is disposed within the cavity of the plant pot-shaped main body.

Abstract: The present invention represents a breakthrough in advertisement tools. The liquid sign uses a system of chambers and electrically powered pumps to produce a dynamic and visually appealing advertising sign. The advertising sign of the invention uses a liquid in motion contained in a front chamber of the sign to highlight the color and other visual characteristics of a beverage or any liquid product being advertised. The liquid in motion highlights and showcases any given characteristic of a product being advertised, including bubble or foam producing capacity, color, brightness, or a logo or symbol placed on the background of the liquid in motion. It also provides for a visually attractive, electrically or battery powered and affordable advertising tool which can be used indoors or outdoors in many different settings.

  • Patent number: 6971586
Abstract: A vertical water wall assembly (100) for generating dynamically changing water patterns in a contained channel (114) behind a viewing surface. The water wall assembly includes a translucent front sheet (110) directed toward a viewing space with a rear side containing a multiplicity of concave depressions (111), and a rear sheet (140) disposed behind and in proximity to the front sheet that in part acts as a contrasting background. The edges of these sheets are sealed (120, 122) and water is made to flow in the space defined between the two sheets, entering at the top of the sheets (135) and exiting at the bottom of the sheets (150). The flow of water into the water wall at the water inlet (125) is time varying and is preferably computer-controlled (190). In operation water flowing in the contained channel (114) of the water wall takes dynamic, chaotic pathways through the multiplicity of concave depressions (111).
