  • Patent number: 9976531
Abstract: A valve for metering a flowing, e.g. gaseous or liquid, medium, in particular a fuel injection valve for internal combustion engines, is described, which valve comprises a valve housing having an inflow for the medium, a valve body having a metering opening for the medium, a join present between the valve housing and valve body, and a seal sealing the join. In order to ensure a seal that is reliable and not susceptible to cracking, in which context the material of the valve housing and valve body can be selected without restriction, the seal has a clamping ring, covering the join, that sits with a press fit on end portions, facing toward one another at the join, of the valve housing and valve body.

  • Patent number: 9180469
Abstract: Exemplary illustrations of a bell cup for a rotary atomizer and method of using the same are disclosed. The exemplary illustrations are generally directed to the control of the rotating bell plate of a rotary atomizer used for the serial coating of work pieces. An air flow component may be created by the structural design of the bell plate and/or of an element of the rotary atomizer and by the rotation of the bell plate. The air flow component may correspond to the bell plate design, and the element may be adjacent to the bell plate and stationary relative to same. The air flow component may be measured and compared to a predefined reference value.

  • Patent number: 8453999
Abstract: A high-velocity water misting gun with a very high-speed radial inflow hydraulic turbine mounted on the same shaft with an axial flow air compressor wheel compressing air discharged at high velocities through an exhaust air nozzle. All of the water discharging from the hydraulic turbine wheel is channeled directly into a water misting nozzle providing a fine water mist discharging into a high-velocity air flow provided by the axial-flow compressor. Preferred embodiments utilize a manually operated ball valve to control water pressure supplied to the gun. A second valve is a manually operated turbine water bypass valve that is integral part of the preferred embodiment which allows for change of turbine power and air flow independently of water flow. With turbine water bypass valve open, most of the turbine flow is bypassed around the turbine and directly into the water misting nozzle, increasing the water flow and decreasing the air flow and air velocity.

  • Patent number: 7530553
Abstract: A high-velocity water misting gun with a very high-speed radial inflow hydraulic turbine mounted on the same shaft with an axial flow air compressor wheel compressing air discharged at high velocities through an exhaust air nozzle. A preferred embodiment utilizes a plastic-metal hydraulic turbine wheel in which the plastic portion of the wheel other than blades is solidly anchored within a metal containing wheel. High pressure water drives the hydraulic turbine and provides water lubrication to high-speed bearings supporting a rotating shaft. The preferred embodiment utilizes hybrid bearings (part hydrodynamic, part hydrostatic) suitable for low-viscosity fluids such as water. In the preferred embodiment all of the water discharging from the hydraulic turbine wheel is channeled through a hollow shaft to a set of high-speed, shaft-mounted rotating orifices providing a fine water mist discharging into a high-velocity air flow provided by the axial-flow compressor.

  • Patent number: 7025286
Abstract: A method and system are provided for dispensing a colored polymerizing composition. Two reactive components and one color component are pumped from respective containers at a metered volume. The color component, which is preferably a low-viscosity automotive paint is injected into either the first or second stream of reactive component at a point immediately prior to mixing all components in a dispensing device for dispensing the resulting colored fluid mixture onto a surface to be coated. The mixture may be dispensed by pouring or spraying onto the surface. The method and system are particularly useful for mixing and dispensing colored polyurethane or polyurea coatings, such as for spray-on truck bed liners.

  • Patent number: 6375088
Abstract: A fluid delivery device providing a pulsating discharge. The device comprises a housing having an elongated chamber, a fluid inlet passage to the chamber, and a cylindrical rotor mounted in the chamber and comprising a plurality of grooves. The inlet passage comprises a first fluid injection channel through which the fluid enters the chamber and impinges upon the grooves in the rotor. The fluid thereby rotates the rotor and exits as a fluid pulse through a linear fluid discharge. The grooves in the rotor may be helical such that the pulse of fluid traverses the linear fluid discharge from one portion to another or sequences through a linearly aligned plurality of fluid exits. The device may further comprise a second fluid inlet passage adapted to inject a second fluid into the grooves. One fluid may be compressible and one non-compressible. A method for cleaning an object, such as a circuit board, using the fluid delivery device of the present invention is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 6360965
Abstract: The present invention provides a spray head assembly with a moving spray nozzle that delivers fluid in a substantially uniform spray distribution. The movement of the spray nozzle is a wobbling motion, preferably combined with some rotational motion. The wobbling motion is generated by disposing a wobble inducing member or wobble turbine in the path of the fluid supply. The water flowing over the wobble turbine causes the turbine to wobble. The wobbling turbine then causes the spray housing and nozzle to wobble. The spray pattern produced by the wobbling spray housing changes more or less rapidly so that fluid droplets or streams are directed along arcuate paths rather than at a single point. This type of spray distribution pattern is gentler than many stationary patterns and the unique design of the wobble inducing member does not include complex mechanical parts or significant flow restrictions.
