Patent number: 4591096Abstract: A centrifugal sprayer of the type having an electric motor driving a disc element, and coupled to a feed mechanism, wherein the feed mechanism is suspended in immersion in the liquid to be sprayed, including interchangeable hollow cone feed members having at least several surface slope angles relative to the vertex of the cone, and an outer housing around the feed mechanism, the housing having a bushing surface in supporting contact with the feed mechanism to maintain constant axial position during rotation of the cone feed mechanism.Type: GrantFiled: December 27, 1983Date of Patent: May 27, 1986Assignee: Polaris Home Systems, Inc.Inventors: Irving F. Snyder, William D. Vork, Michael Itzin

Patent number: 4553700Abstract: A centrifugal sprayer of the type having an electric motor driving a disc element, and coupled to a feed mechanism suspended in immersion in a container of liquid to be sprayed, including an external axially supporting bushing surface about the cone feeder, wherein the lower feed opening of the cone feeder is supported by a mating conical bushing surface, thereby providing laminar flow to the inlet of the cone feeder.Type: GrantFiled: March 19, 1984Date of Patent: November 19, 1985Assignee: Polaris Home Systems, Inc.Inventors: Irving F. Snyder, Duane A. Luebeck

Patent number: 4488684Abstract: Apparatus for effecting controlled and accurate moistening of an object is described. A hollow rotor is provided with at least one shaped portion in its surface, that portion having a row of nozzles therein. The nozzles are drilled completely through the rotor sidewall so that they comprise a conduit between the rotor's center and the outer surface of the rotor. An apertured plate and shutter plate are movably mounted between an object to be coated and the rotor. Fluid is delivered to the center of the rotor from a supply thereof by means of an inlet tube. The rotor is coupled at its other end, which is sealed to prevent fluid escape, to a motor and driven thereby to eject fluid from the nozzles, aided by the vacuum effect of the shaped rotor portion. Only that fluid escaping through the exposed section of the slot in the apertured plate strikes and thereby coats the object to be moistened.Type: GrantFiled: December 29, 1982Date of Patent: December 18, 1984Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: William S. Patent number: 4414918Abstract: A distributor head for throwing mortar onto the wall of a pipe (12) being lined. A set of inner rotating vanes (56) throw the mortar onto an outwardly flared conical surface (40 ) and the mortar travels along the surface (40) to the outer vanes (48) on its outer edge from which the mortar is thrown in a high velocity, dense stream against the pipe wall. The inner vanes are individually and releasably fitted into a collar (60) at the inner edge of the flared conical surface.Type: GrantFiled: February 11, 1982Date of Patent: November 15, 1983Assignee: Raymond International Builders, Inc.Inventors: Henry A. Patent number: 4408720Abstract: A demountable wheeled liquid sprayer comprised of an elongated handle having an angulated forward end portion supporting a battery driven electric motor with a depending drive shaft rotatably mounting a cup having inwardly and upwardly extending sidewalls with circumferentially spaced openings extending downwardly and outwardly therethrough around the periphery of its bottom. The handle is detachably mounted on a small two-wheeled frame and supports a removable and disposable liquid container which discharges its contents into the cup through conduit means and an associated valve. Valve control means is mounted on the handle and simultaneously opens the valve while activating the motor, or closes the valve while deactivating the motor. The handle and described sprayer may be detached, transported and used manually absent the wheeled frame.Type: GrantFiled: January 15, 1981Date of Patent: October 11, 1983Assignee: Britt Tech CorporationInventors: Donald R. Anderson, Iven R. Norstrud, John H. Threlkeld

Patent number: 4392614Abstract: A portable paint spraying device for generating a paint spray by centrifugally impelling liquid paint from the edge of a vertically oriented spinning disc. The disc is driven by an electric motor which also drives a conveyor screw used to lift the paint upwardly from a reservoir or container through a vertically oriented pump tube and into a spray chamber in the sprayer housing. The pump tube has a horizontal portion at the upper end thereof terminating in a delivery orifice through which the liquid paint is discharged into a centrally located recess or well in the front face of the disc. The disc has a relatively large flat annular region surrounding the central well which is in turn surrounded by an outer peripheral angled flange or lip having a feathered edge.Type: GrantFiled: January 12, 1981Date of Patent: July 12, 1983Assignee: The Wooster Brush CompanyInventors: Hugh F. Patent number: 4379523Abstract: A swivelling fan-jet sprinkler which is convertible from a coarse sprinkling mode in which it covers a relatively large irrigation area to a gentler spraying mode in which it covers a smaller area, the conversion being achieved by means of a removable spinner cage which surrounds the nozzle cylinder of the sprinkler. The spinner cage has a captive snap ring cooperating with a groove in the nozzle cylinder to produce a detent action for attachment and removal of the spinner cage. The latter is driven by the water jets which are disturbed in the process.Type: GrantFiled: September 4, 1981Date of Patent: April 12, 1983Assignee: Perrot-Regnerbau GmbH & Co.Inventors: Friedrich Schanz, Emil Schucker, Alexander Perrot
