  • Patent number: 8876016
Abstract: A water dispenser of a drinking fountain includes a water dispenser, an inner block and a control valve. The water dispenser has a receiving space to receive the plastic inner block made. A water channel and water inlet are recessedly formed on both ends of the inner block, wherein the water channel is corresponding to the water outlet of the water dispenser, and two engaging holes are spacedly formed on one side of the water channel and water inlet. The engaging holes are corresponding to connecting holes of the water dispenser. The major tubing inside the water dispenser is composed of a plastic inner block, the contact area between the water flow and the metal surface of the water dispenser is reduced so as to avoid accumulation of harmful heavy metal in the water when the water is flowing or stored, to achieve the goal of providing safe drinking water.

Abstract: An embodiment includes a valve with a filter in which the flow of water through the valve is stopped by lowering a filter within the valve. This movement of the filter allows a poppet valve to close, stopping the flow of water. Subsequent raising of the filter holds the poppet valve in the open position, allowing the flow of water through the filter for further use. Embodiments are found in drinking fountains and facilitate the maintenance of the drinking fountain by allowing a technician to shut off the water using a screwdriver without requiring the removal of the fountain cover.

Abstract: An improved freezeproof or freeze resistant valve assembly is provided for use in an outdoor drinking fountain or the like. The fountain includes a main on-off valve for coupling an underground water supply conduit via a standpipe to a fountain head to dispense water. The freezeproof assembly comprises a sump chamber installed below the frost line and having a piston mounted therein for reciprocal movement between advanced and retracted positions. When the main valve is turned off, the piston retracts by gravity within the sump chamber and residual water remaining within the standpipe drains to the sump chamber at low pressure through a normally open control valve mounted on the piston. When the main valve is turned on, the control valve is closed by water pressure and the piston is advanced within the sump chamber to expel the water previously collected therein through a discharge conduit coupled to a main fountain drain.
