Abstract: A mouthpiece for use on a container having a tear-open closure slot therein. The mouthpiece has a conically-shaped mounting portion at one end and a tapered projection at the other end and about which the mouth of the user can be placed. An opening extends axially through the mouthpiece and an air supply opening is provided through the mounting portion. The mounting portion is adapted to be snugly inserted into the opening in the container to form a liquid tight seal thereat. The mouthpiece is to be kept in a sealed package. As a result, the bacteria in and around the opening to the container will be prevented from coming into contact with the user when the user uses the aforesaid mouthpiece in association with the container.

Abstract: A tube of thermoplastic material having a flexible zone intermediate the ends thereof which may be flexed without substantial springback. The flexible zone comprises a series of circumferential grooves having an annular floor from which two opposed groove sides convergently extend.

Abstract: A drinking straw with a hollow box connected to the straw such that a fluid can be drawn through the box and one face of the box can be seen by the user. The viewed face has transparent indicia surrounded by solid black or dark colored material corresponding to the material of the rear plate of the box, hence, the indicia is only visible when a colored fluid such as milk is drawn through the straw and the box.

Abstract: Invalids have difficulty sipping water from pitchers and glasses through ordinary straws because of the effort required to lift water through a straw or tube and the fact that upon cessation of sucking the water in the tube runs back into the pitcher or glass. A flap-type check valve is placed in the lower end of the tube. Little effort is required to open the valve. The weight of the water maintains it closed.

Abstract: A bubble forming device for forming bubbles and thin film planes spanning the sides of a frame with bubble forming solution. The device includes an air inlet for forcing air into the device, for ejecting air into the thin films or extracting air out from the thin films. The bubble shape is dependent upon the shape of the frame (which may be formed from rods, wire etc.), between which the thin films span.

Abstract: An apparatus installed on a bicycle to permit the rider to drink water or other liquid while riding. The apparatus comprises an extensible drinking straw which communicates with a water bottle. In a preferred form, the straw is a flexible tube coiled in a retracting reel mounted on the upper horizontal bar of the bicycle frame, with the water bottle mounted below the saddle. A form of retracting reel is shown which requires no rotating seal, but permits the flexible tubing to remain in one continuous length. An alternative form comprises a length of retractile coiled tubing in a lidded container mounted within reach of the rider. Another form employs a telescoping drinking straw of rigid tubing.

Abstract: A tubular stick of predetermined fluid-holding capacity is provided with a funnel-shaped end portion, whose mouth is rotatable from a vertical to a horizontal plane about an accordian-pleated bending hinge. A decorative cap is hingedly connected to the funnel-shaped end portion, to close the top of the stick. The stick is filled with water and/or water and plant food to feed a plant, and the funnel disposed in a vertical plane so the cap provides a decorative ornament for the plant.
