Abstract: In a fuel injection valve, it is possible to obtain spray in which the penetrating force of injected fuel is suppressed. The fuel injection valve includes a valve seat that forms a gap with a valve body, the gap allowing fuel to pass therethrough, and multiple injection holes that are located further downstream from the gap. The fuel to which pressure is applied flows out from the injection holes. When the flow velocity of the fuel in the gap formed between the valve body and the valve seat is indicated by meters per second, the flow velocity is set to be greater than a value obtained by multiplying the square root of the pressure applied to the fuel by 28. In this manner, the flow velocity in the gap increases, and flow velocity distribution inside the injection hole is uniformized, thereby suppressing an increase in penetration.

  • Patent number: 8985483
Abstract: Disclosed is a method and device to control a spray pattern produced from a spraying device consisting of a plurality of individual jets that form the resulting spray pattern. The trajectory of each individual jet is controlled by orienting the nozzle-like feature that produces each individual jet, thereby producing a variety of spray patterns. This is accomplished utilizing the flexible properties of elastomeric or rubber-like materials. In addition to allowing for deformation or movement to remove possible obstructions to the fluid flow, this flexibility property also permits for specific, controlled movements, whereby it is possible to control the trajectory of the fluid issuing from the device. These rubber-like materials can include specific features that allow the material to be deformed in a controlled fashion so as to predictably control the trajectory of the streams issuing from the individual nozzles.

Abstract: A nozzle assembly includes a plastic, one-piece flood tip that attaches directly over the bayonet connector of a nozzle body. The nozzle body is of the diaphragm type for reduced weight, cost and complexity but modified to increase flow capacity. In one embodiment, a 90-degree bayonet is provided on the nozzle body turret, and other bayonet selections are also available on the turret for flat fan spray patterns. In a second embodiment, a conventional radially extending bayonet pattern is provided, and the flood tip itself is fabricated with a 90-degree turn. The plumbing system utilized for high spray rate applications with the flood tip is the same as for lower rate spraying using a different tip mounted on other bayonet connector on the turret.

Abstract: Water is first caused to flow through a first passage and rotate a first impeller. Rotation of the first impeller is linked to rotation of a second impeller, which is in fluid communication with a second, discrete passage. Vanes on the second impeller are constrained to move faster than vanes on the first impeller. Water is subsequently caused to flow through the second passage and to be more aggressively advanced by the second impeller.

Abstract: An air assisted spray nozzle assembly having an air cap effective for generating wide, flat spray patterns with improved liquid particle breakdown, utilizing relatively low air flow rates and pressures. The air cap includes a pair of longitudinally extending air passageways on opposite sides of a central liquid flow stream discharge orifice. The air flow passages each have a discharge orifice defined by a respective transverse deflector flange and a closely spaced inwardly tapered deflector surface which cooperate to deflect and guide pressurized air streams inwardly toward the discharging liquid flow stream for atomizing the liquid and for directing it into a well defined spray pattern.

Abstract: An air assisted spray nozzle assembly is provided. The spray nozzle including a nozzle body having a liquid inlet passage and a gas inlet passage. The air cap is disposed at a downstream end of the nozzle body and includes an outer body member having an inner bore extending from an open upstream end thereof. A fluid directing insert is inserted in the inner bore of the outer body member. The fluid directing insert has a fluid directing passage extending therethrough which communicates with the liquid inlet passage in the nozzle body. An impingement element is also inserted into the inner bore of the outer body member downstream from the fluid directing insert. The impingement element defines an impingement surface spaced from and opposing the fluid directing passage for deflecting a stream of liquid impinging thereon in a radially outward direction.

Abstract: A reverse pulse cleaning system for use in a bag house filter including a blow tube (2) having outlet holes (3) to direct high velocity air pulses into filter bags to be cleaned. The systems includes a nozzle (1) having a control formation between the inlet and outlet ends of the nozzle. The control formation determines air flow characteristics such as velocity and direction of flow emerging from the outlet holes (3) and can improve uniformity and effectiveness of filter bag cleaning. A clampable and releasable fixing of the nozzle (1) to the blow tube allows replacement of the control formation with one of different characteristics during manufacturing or insitu fine tuning. The fixing allows the precise alignment of nozzles (1) on assembly which reduces the need for costly precision in forming the blow tube outlet holes (3).
