Patent number: 10175152Abstract: Provided are methods for testing aerosol material compatibility of various samples to disinfectants, decontaminates, and other such materials that are used as aerosols. A test is performed in a controlled environment, such as an aerosol chamber, using a specific set of test parameters representative of actual use of tested materials, such as dispensing parameters and exposure parameters. During the test, a test surface of the sample is exposed to an aerosol mist. Other surfaces may be protected. After exposure to the aerosol mist, the sample may be allowed to sit for a period of time. The sample is later cleaned and tested to determine effects of various materials in the mist on the sample. In some embodiments, some or all operations may be repeated for the same sample or different samples. The test parameters may be varied to determine compatibility limits.Type: GrantFiled: December 12, 2016Date of Patent: January 8, 2019Assignee: The Boeing CompanyInventors: Conor J. Patent number: 5918816Abstract: A multifunction hand shower can be used in at least two modes of operation: in the first of these modes of operation, the shower jets emerge from the shower base (3) in a constant stream at relatively high speed and with a small cross-section ("hard jet mode") and in the second mode of operation they emerge at high speed and with a relatively small cross-section, but are intermittently interrupted ("pulse jet mode"). The periodic interruption of the "pulse jets" is ensured by a pulse wheel (23) which is housed in a circular chamber (20) in the housing (1) in such a way that it can rotate. In the "hard jet mode", the rotation of the pulse wheel (23) is interrupted, by a stop (45), in a quite specific angular position which allows the hard jets to emerge from the shower base (3) in a constant stream. To change over to "pulse jet mode", the stop (45) is moved out of the path of movement of a stop (28) which is connected to the pulse wheel (23) such that the pulse wheel (23) is now able to rotate freely.Type: GrantFiled: March 18, 1996Date of Patent: July 6, 1999Assignee: Hansa Metallwerke AGInventor: Roland Huber

Patent number: 5025990Abstract: A gas nozzle has a body threaded on a threaded conduit with an insert therebetween. This insert is not changed for another insert in order to adapt the nozzle to either natural gas or LP gas; instead, the body is tightened onto the insert and threaded conduit for LP gas and is loosened about one thread for natural gas. The insert has a first restricted orifice and a bypass passageway around this restricted orifice. The body has a second restricted orifice which is larger than that of the first restricted orifice. Thus, when the body is tightened on the conduit, a seal is made to close off the bypass passageway and the gas flow is through the first and second restricted orifices in series. When the body is loosened, the bypass passageway comes into effect and the gas flow is also through the bypass passageway to be restricted only by the second restricted orifice.Type: GrantFiled: October 12, 1989Date of Patent: June 25, 1991Assignee: Universal Enterprises, Inc.Inventor: Ralph G. Patent number: 4792096Abstract: A nozzle with self-contained high pressure booster pump is carried on a pistol grip handle with a small motor to drive the eccentrically-pump. A portion of the water from a conventional hose fitting flows laterally into a pump cylinder and then radially through the piston itself to exit axially through a check valve and into the pump chamber ahead of the piston. During the working stroke the water is driven out of the piston into a pressure chamber and then through a restricted passageway to exit in a jet stream. Another portion of the supply water is diverted around the pump cylinder to the same nozzle to flush away debris loosened by the jet stream.Type: GrantFiled: December 14, 1987Date of Patent: December 20, 1988Inventor: T. Patent number: 4669666Abstract: A shower head contains a cup-shaped casing with a longitudinally displaceably held core part, for whose displacement an eccentrically-mounted circular disc engages in an opening of the core part. The eccentrically-mounted circular disc contains an eccentrically arranged hole, through which engages a square section of an adjusting member. Within the casing, the adjusting member is mounted in a sleeve in part of the shower head which does not carry water. The adjusting member does not require packings.Type: GrantFiled: February 7, 1986Date of Patent: June 2, 1987Assignee: Hans Grohe GmbH & Co. KGInventor: Werner Finkbeiner

Patent number: 4664313Abstract: A water ejecting gun simultaneously produces two kinds of ejecting flows, a straight flow and a spray flow. The gun disposes a rotating or spiral fan element in a water passage for producing the spray flow. The straight flow acts as a carrier for the spray flow. A mechanism for producing the spray and straight flows includes an inner sleeve, an outer sleeve rotatably and axially movable on the inner sleeve, a nozzle element disposed in the inner sleeve which defines a main flow passage and a sub-flow passage and a frusto-conical core element engaging the upstream end of the nozzle element to form a variable gap therebetween. When the gap is open, water flows to the main flow passage. When the gap is closed, a smaller water flow to the main flow passage occurs through radial and axial passages in the core element. The straight and spray water flows exit the gun simultaneously through an ejecting opening.Type: GrantFiled: June 3, 1985Date of Patent: May 12, 1987Inventor: Rikizo Yoneda

Patent number: 4657185Abstract: An improved showerhead comprising a nozzle and a ring valve. The interior of the nozzle defines a secondary fluid passageway. The exterior of the nozzle includes a plurality of grooves on the front portion of the nozzle. The nozzle also includes at least one opening through its sidewall. The ring valve includes a recessed cavity and fits over the nozzle in sliding engagement with the nozzle between a first and second position. When the ring valve is in its first position, the recessed cavity communicates with both the opening and the channel passageways to form a primary fluid passageway, permitting water to flow through both the primary and the secondary fluid passageways. When the ring valve is in its second position, the inner surface of the ring valve blocks the opening through the nozzle sidewall such that fluid flows through only the secondary fluid passageways rather than the primary channel passageways.Type: GrantFiled: May 1, 1985Date of Patent: April 14, 1987Assignee: Associated Mills, Inc.Inventor: Alfons Rundzaitis

Patent number: 4267972Abstract: A gated irrigation pipe is operated by a pneumatic control system which automatically opens and closes the gates. Each gate is slidable along the pipe surface and is coupled to a pair of parallel air conduits extending longitudinally along the pipe. The conduits are connected midway between their ends to a common movable pneumatic cylinder which receives therein a piston fixed to the exterior of the pipe. The conduits communicate with opposite ends of the cylinder, and serve as both an air line to the cylinder and an operating linkage which opens and closes the gates and which will not cause damage to the gates in response to differentials of expansion and contraction. A plurality of pipes thus equipped are serially connected to form an irrigation pipeline and the air conduits are interconnected at the pipe joints by flexible hose couplings which may be preset any time during each watering interval.Type: GrantFiled: October 17, 1979Date of Patent: May 19, 1981Assignee: FarmTronics Inc.Inventor: Donald E.
