Because of the inventive nozzle the vehicle is able to spray beyond the span of the vehicle with a uniform application to a swath of land over varying vehicle speeds and flow rates. The disclosed nozzle achieves a constant velocity and exit flow trajectory for a wide variety of flow rates, including low flow rates. The nozzle is particularly beneficial for vertical manifold arms with horizontally mounted nozzles because the trajectory distance is constant for a wide range of flow rates. The nozzle achieves these benefits by providing a fixed flow path and a variable flow path. The nozzle includes a substantially spherical poppet having a fixed hole orifice, variably retained by a spring adjacent to the orifice of the discharge port.

Abstract: A shower head assembly includes a housing including a first end portion engaged with a water outlet cap and a second end portion connected to a water source. The water outlet cap defines a plurality of outer nozzles arranged in a circular manner and a plurality of inner nozzles arranged in a circular manner. An adjusting device is mounted on a periphery of the housing for alternatively introducing water in the housing into the outer nozzles or the inner nozzles such that water can be sprayed outwardly via the outer nozzles or via the inner nozzles alternatively.

  • Patent number: 5839666
Abstract: A shower head has a body forming a rear compartment pressurizable with water and a forwardly open mouth having an inner periphery and an end disk generally closing the mouth, extending perpendicular to an axis, and having an elastically deformable outer rim formed with a plurality of axially through-going and radially outwardly open grooves opening rearwardly into the compartment and radially outwardly closed by the body. The rim further is formed with an annular and elastically deformable lip projecting axially past a downstream face of the disk and a downstream end of the body. The grooves are formed in the lip. Thus the critical downstream ends of the flow passages constituted by the grooves are formed in an elastically deformable lip that can be deformed. Since the deposits are normally very hard, such deformation of the lip will flake any lime deposits off.

Abstract: A decoking tool includes a valve body equipped with a pressurized fluid inlet and having a plurality of fluid passages, including drilling fluid passages extending substantially the full length of the valve body to conduct fluid to drilling nozzle sockets, and cutting fluid passages extending approximately half as far as the drilling fluid passages to conduct fluid to cutting nozzle sockets, the drilling and cutting fluid passages being disposed alternatingly on a circular locus about an axial centerline of the valve body. There are nozzles installed in the nozzle sockets. A diverter plate is interposed between the valve body and the pressurized fluid inlet and has axial fluid passages disposed on a circular path congruent with the circular locus, the disposition of the axial fluid passages being such that the passages align either with the drilling fluid passages or with the cutting fluid passages of the valve body.

  • Patent number: 5806770
Abstract: A pistol-grip nozzle is provided that includes an inverted "L" shaped metal hollow handle formed of a transverse section and a longitudinal section. The transverse section defines a tenon at a bottom portion thereof. A trigger is disposed at an inside juncture of the transverse section and the longitudinal section and adapted for receiving a control device. The control device has a cambered top surface to correspond to the bottom of the transverse section, a groove defined at a center of the cambered surface along a length thereof in order to slidably engage with the tenon of the hollow handle, a series of recesses defined at a bottom thereof to engagingly receive the upward lip of the trigger. Furthermore, a rose is threadedly mounted to a free end of the transverse section of the hollow handle. The rose provides various water patterns under various water pressures supplied by the trigger.

  • Patent number: 5772120
Abstract: In a multifunction hand shower the mode of operation is selected by a change-over mechanism which has a slide (56) which has essentially linear movement. This can be set in three different positions. The slide (56) is connected via a guide and cam mechanism (62, 65) to a first change-over device (37) which can be moved into two different positions. The first position is adopted by the first change-over device (37) in the first mode of operation and the second position in the two other modes of operation. A second change-over device (45) can also be moved backwards and forwards between two positions which correspond to the second and a third mode of operation of the shower. Here, a spring (49) forces the second change-over device (45) into a preferred position. Whether the second change-over device (45) reaches this preferred position depends upon the position of a stop (59, 60) which is attached to the slide (56). The slide (56) is moved for preference by a rocker-type manual actuator (53).
