    Abstract: An emergency eyewash unit includes a pair of water discharge ports oriented to produce a pair of upwardly directed, diverging water streams for inside-out flush flow of contaminants from a person's eyes. These eyewash streams can be combined with a plurality of smaller upwardly directed facewash streams for flushing contaminants from a person's face. The eyewash and/or facewash streams are produced by an eyewash body adapted for rotatable mounting onto a water supply conduit, with a locking clip normally preventing undesired rotational disassembly. The eyewash body may be used in combination with an overhead emergency shower which, in one preferred form, includes a shower spray head carrying multiple flow control and flow shaper elements to produce a substantially uniformly dispersed shower spray pattern.

Rotation of a cap changes the nozzle assembly between an off condition, a spray condition, a second off condition, and a stream condition of the liquid discharged from the nozzle assembly. The cap can be rotated from the off position directly to either of the spray or stream positions by rotating the cap one-quarter turn in opposite directions. A spatial relationship between an end surface of the liquid spinner and an interior surface of the cap end wall that surrounds the assembly discharge orifice improves the stream configuration of liquid discharged by the nozzle assembly.

    Abstract: A pressurized liquid dispensing container and valve assembly comprises an essentially upright container for containing under pressure a liquid to be dispensed and a discharge valve assembly above the container. The valve assembly includes a valve body and a nozzle having a discharge opening that is controlled by a valve. The valve includes a frustoconical valve seat formed in an end wall of the nozzle, and a frustoconical valve head which is axially movable between an inward seating position and an outward position in which the valve is open. A protective cap is screw threaded on the outside of the nozzle and has a discharge aperture in its outer end wall. The valve head has an outer end surface that normally abuts against an inside surface of the cap so as to restrict flow from the nozzle through the discharge aperture in the cap. The cap when screwed tightly holds the valve closed. Partial unscrewing of the cap adjusts the amount of valve opening and rate of liquid discharge.

The nozzle body has a center vane for the inner nozzle to ensure an inner solid cone spray and may have a metering plate to direct some fluid to the outer nozzle so that the end result is a spray that is a solid cone with an angle substantially in excess of the cone created by the inner nozzle alone and having a coefficient discharge of approximately 0.99.

The nozzle features a tubular member, which may be a part of the main body of the pump, having a circular, planar face at its terminal end. A sealing boss surrounds the dispensing orifice and bore to provide a liquid-tight seal with the planar face when the orifice is not in registration with the recess.
