With Feature Relating To Liquid Material Patents (Class 239/662)
  • Patent number: 4475692
Abstract: A spreader vehicle, particularly for agricultural use in handling farmyard manure and slurry material ranging from free-flowing liquid to solid consistency, includes a body having one or more discharge openings in a lower part and conveniently to one side of the body, with a rotating impeller immediately outside the opening(s) for broadcast distribution of the material and a feed rotor, for example a large diameter auger, within the body and rotating in close proximity to its floor and at least the lower part of an opening for controlled feed of non-free flowing material through that opening. Preferably the impeller and the feed rotor are driven in the same direction of rotation about parallel horizontal axes so that the material is fed beneath both those axes, and the rate of passage of material through the opening(s) is regulated by a sliding door(s) or other closure means.

  • Patent number: 4467967
Abstract: A manure spreader that includes a generally V-shaped hollow body having a longitudinally positioned auger conveyor rotatively carried near its bottom which can be raised or lowered to break up manure that may bridge over the auger conveyor. The auger conveyor has a set of individual blades arranged in a helix to force the manure toward an outlet gate which is positioned at one end of the body. A rotary impeller comprised of a set of free swinging manure blades is carried outwardly of the body in a position to receive and propel the manure from the outlet gate while a suitable drive mechanism is provided to rotate the impeller at sufficient speed so the free swinging blades extend radially outward to spread the manure over a wide area.

  • Patent number: 4234109
Abstract: A material-distributing implement which is mountable to the flat bed of a truck for distributing dry material in one configuration and liquid in a second configuration. The disclosed embodiment includes a frame, a hopper, three auger sections mechanically coupled in line with each other and an arrangement of mechanical components and features for converting the implement from the dry material configuration to the liquid configuration and back to the dry configuration. A first auger section driven by the truck's power take-off is supported between the front and rear walls of the hopper. Dry material in the hopper is transferred through an aperture in the rear wall to a second auger section which is also mounted to the bed of the truck. The final auger section receives the dry material from the second section and transfers this material to a remote location, beyond the rear of the truck, for distribution.

  • Patent number: 4219163
Abstract: A device for automatically closing the fine material pan on a manure spreader is disclosed wherein, after being released to a clean-out position, the motion of the fluid endgate is utilized to return the fine material pan to its normal operating position. A lost motion linkage connects the fine material pan to the arm of the fluid endgate. A retraction of the fluid endgate to a transport position through manipulation of a tractor's hydraulic system effects a closing of the fine material pan without the operator having to dismount the tractor.

  • Patent number: 4186885
Abstract: A spray device is disclosed that is mountable to a truck for movement therewith along a roadway for the purpose of spraying seeds, fertilizer or other solids or liquids onto the roadside. The device includes pivotably interconnected frames that permit pivotal movement of the device about horizontal and vertical axes. The frames releasably mount a portable blower and spray discharge mechanism at their opposite longitudinal ends. A duct interconnects the blower and spray discharge. It provides air for driving a spray discharge mechanism to eject a spray outwardly at a selected trajectory along a roadside area. Various modifications are shown for adapting the structure to spray a liquid mist or for spraying seeds or fertilizer along a roadside area. The device makes use of a portable blower that can be mounted to the frame or removed therefrom without modification.

  • Patent number: 4185782
Abstract: A dual purpose sprayer and spreader device capable of selectively distributing either granular or liquid material upon the ground being traversed. The device includes a hopper supported for travel over the ground, the hopper having a discharge opening in the bottom thereof through which granular material from the hopper falls by gravity onto a rotary impeller which throws the material laterally, the impeller being driven by the ground wheels. To distribute a liquid, a container of liquid, (such as a flexible bag) is inserted in the hopper, the bag having a dispensing tube extending from the lower end thereof, which tube extends through the discharge opening at the bottom of the hopper. The hopper is also provided with a slidable gate which controls the size of the discharge opening from fully open to fully closed and when the tube extends therethrough, the gate functions as a valve for opening and closing the tube.

  • Patent number: 4078729
Abstract: A vehicle has an upwardly opening bed mounted thereon within which manure can be stored. A manure spreader device is located at the trailing end of the vehicle, and a conveyor means moves manure from the interior of the bed into contact with the spreader device, whereupon the manure is uniformly spread over the terrain in the usual manner.A plurality of heated panels are attached to the underside of the floor of the bed. Each heated panel includes electrical heating elements therein which are arranged so that the floor of the bed is heated to a temperature which prevents the manure from freezing thereto. The panels are individually affixed to the floor of the bed in such a manner that they can be replaced.

  • Patent number: 3980236
Abstract: A liquid manure spreader having a tank for carrying liquid manure. An auger assembly driven by a power take-off from a tractor extends longitudinally along the bottom of the tank and delivers liquid manure to an impeller mounted on the back wall of the tank. The center section of the auger assembly is carried by a bearing mounted on the transverse baffle. The impeller discharges the liquid manure under pressure through a valve to a spreader structure. The spreader structure has a generally horizontal spreader plate which directs the liquid manure in a wide, relatively low spread pattern. • Patent number: 3964714
Abstract: A spreader for liquid or solid farmyard manure. The spreader comprises a manure container, an unloading rotor and a manure pusher. The rotor is spaced above the level of the bottom of the container and discharges over the rear wall of the container. The pusher keeps the rotor immersed in manure to the correct depth. In this way both solid and liquid manure can be spread. The rear wall of the container slopes up to the rotor to guide solid manure to the rotor.
