Mixing of chemical with dilutent occurs on the suction side of a diaphragm pump which delivers the mixture to one or more nozzles. Should flow between either tank and the pump be interrupted, flow to the nozzles is automatically interrupted.

  • Patent number: 7896259
Abstract: The present invention provides a water saving showerhead that allows a bather to switch among at least three different water delivery functions. In the first function, the showerhead delivers a concentrated fluttering spray. In the second function, the showerhead delivers a combined spray pattern, wherein the fluttering spray and a radially dispersed precision spray are simultaneously delivered to the bather. In the third function, the showerhead delivers the precision spray pattern. The combination spray pattern is effected without compromising either the desirable massaging and cleaning effect of water delivery or the inherent water conservation benefits. In addition, the showerhead of the present invention provides an automatic return feature for return of the showerhead to the first function when water pressure to the showerhead falls below a predetermined bottom threshold.

Abstract: A fluid effects apparatus to produce a fluid display or effect. The apparatus includes a base with a center point gimbal. A fluid outlet manifold is provided with an inlet for receiving fluid and an outlet device such as a nozzle for dispersing the received fluid. The fluid outlet manifold is supported upon the center point gimbal to pivot with the gimbal in all directions. A drive assembly is provided with first and second drive mechanisms such as submersible servos that each drive input arms attached to the fluid outlet manifold at an angular offset such as about 120 degrees. The drive mechanisms are separately and concurrently operable to move the input arms to pivot the fluid outlet manifold on the center point gimbal to selectively position the outlet device such as to articulate it in arcs of 110 degrees or more in all directions about a nozzle center axis.

Abstract: An irrigation system includes a radio transmitter station that transmits weather prediction information to a geographic region that includes multiple geographic sub-regions. The weather prediction information includes a respective geographic sub-region code for each of the geographic sub-regions for which a weather forecast predicts rain within a predetermined time period. An irrigation apparatus in a particular sub-region activates to water a watering zone at a schedule time. However, if the irrigation apparatus receives the sub-region code for the particular sub-region where the irrigation apparatus is located, the irrigation apparatus does not immediately activate to water the watering zone in one embodiment. The transmitter station may transmit both program content and data content on a common radio frequency signal wherein the data content includes the weather prediction information.

The monitoring device is mounted in a detachable housing part and directly detects movements of container during a nebulizing process, an air supply current in the region of a mouthpiece, and/or the production of aerosol, in order to detect this as the actual dispensing of fluid and actuation of the nebulizer, while preferably the time of actuation of the nebulizer is additionally detected and stored. This allows better monitoring and guidance for the user.

Abstract: A metering device for dispensing a medium to an environment is provided. The metering device includes a housing, a shallow metering chamber within the housing which is of planar design and is essentially closed off from the environment by wall sections, a first media inlet which is connected to the metering chamber and can be connected to a media reservoir, and a vibration mechanism which is arranged in such a manner that vibrations generated by the vibration mechanism cause pulsing changes in volume of an internal volume of the metering chamber. A wall section which is designed as an outlet wall section has metering openings so that the metering chamber is connected to the environment. The vibration mechanism forms a vibration wall section so that the metering chamber is delimited.

Abstract: An irrigation unit (10) includes a housing (200), a nozzle (220), a first mover (238) and a second mover (268). The nozzle (220) is secured to the housing (200) and is in fluid communication with a fluid source (18). The first mover (238) rotates the nozzle (220) about a first axis, and the second mover (268) rotates the nozzle (220) about a second axis that is different than the first axis. In one embodiment, the second axis is substantially perpendicular to the first axis. At least a portion of the housing (200) can movably extend along the first axis. The second mover (268) can rotate the nozzle (220) about the second axis based upon a pressure of a fluid (19) within the housing (200) and/or upon position of an area (30) relative to the nozzle (220). Further, the second mover (268) can oscillate the nozzle (220) about the second axis. The rotation of the nozzle (220) about the second axis can also be based upon at least one of a wind direction and a wind speed near the nozzle (220).
