Abstract: A mounting for retaining item (12) to a base (17) comprising a male and female element (11 and 15) to be located on the moveable item (12) or base (17) respectively or vice versa. Said male portion (11) having a disc like configuration and having at least one flange like protrusion (18) at one face thereof and to one side thereof which is spaced from the other face. Said female portion 15 having an aperature (16) at one face thereof which is of corresponding configuration and dimensions as the male member (11) at the other face.

Abstract: A cord holding device for retaining an electrical cord in strategic position on a hospital bed in a convenient location relative to a patient lying on the bed has a base member which in use may be secured by adhesive or a belt to a mattress cover or a mattress pad underneath a bed sheet. A holder member snaps onto the base member over the bed sheet so as to trap the bed sheet therebetween. The holder member carries a pushbutton assembly by which it may be released from the base member by depression of the pushbutton. A U-shaped saddle in inverted form fits into the top of the pushbutton to releasably secure the electrical cord between the saddle member and the pushbutton.

Abstract: A cord holding device for retaining an electrical cord in strategic position on a hospital bed or convenient location relative to a patient lying on the bed has a base member which in use may be secured by adhesive or a belt to a mattress cover or mattress pad under a bed sheet. A cord holder member snaps onto the base member over the bed sheet so as to trap the bed sheet therebetween. The cord holder member has a cylindrical wall with spaced top-opening slots for receipt of the cord with the cord extending chord-wise across the holder member and the device further includes a cover member which snaps onto the holder member to trap the cord in the slots. The cover member may have a depending cylindrical wall with bottom-opening slots complementary to the slots in the cord holder member so as to trap the cord therebetween and so that the cover member can be rotated on the holder member thereby adjusting the effective width of the slots to suit different size cords.

Abstract: A construction for protecting against damage to or unplugging of an electrical cord or plug connected to a portable musical instrument supported on the performer's shoulder by means of a strap attached to studs or the like projecting from the instrument body. The construction includes a washer removably mounted on one of such studs, serving not only to prevent accidental dislodgement of the strap from the stud, but also as an anchoring point for the electrical cord. The assembly between the cord and washer may include an elongated resilient member to snub or soften any jerk on the cord resulting for example from sudden or excessive movement of the performer. The washer includes two circular members each having a pear-shaped opening, the washer being in locked position when the openings are out of registration with one another.

Abstract: A device for holding a fish stringer, comprising an L-shaped frame made up of a base plate and a shoulder plate perpendicular to the base plate, and including jaw means pivotally mounted on the base plate for engagement with a flexible line such as a fish stringer between the jaw means and the shoulder plate. The jaw means describes an arc about the pivot which intersects the shoulder plate near a perpendicular line between the jaw pivot point and the shoulder plate. Normally the stringer can be easily removed by pulling a portion of it near the jaw means in direction perpendicular to the base plate. However, cover means are optionally provided for selectively and slidably covering the jaw means and the shoulder plate to selectively obstruct and not obstruct the removal of the stringer line from between the jaw means and the shoulder plate in a direction perpendicular to the plane of the base plate.

Abstract: A button for surgical applications comprising a disk having a slot which extends to a passage for guiding a thread therethrough within the circumference of the disk, said passage being sealed by a clamping device for clamping the thread firmly in the passage. The clamping device includes a disk segment movable parallel with the disk over the slot and passage to a latched position where its inner marginal part is past the passage thereby bending the thread and holding it by friction and compression.

Abstract: An improved snap hook of the type having a hook and rigidly fixed eye extending from the hook and a swingable keeper arm connected on the hook, and having a foot portion normally spring-urged into blocking relation of the passage through the eye of the hook and wherein the foot includes a surface arranged to bite into a line passed through the eye in one direction of rotation and yieldable storing energy in the spring upon movement of the line in the other direction of rotation to bitingly and clampingly engage the line automatically against applied forces tending to move the line in the direction in which it is to be restrained.

Abstract: A traveler for a sailboat having a track way and a traveler car moving to and fro along the track way and attachments on the traveler for attaching control ropes on either side thereof for controlling the position thereof from either side of the sailboat, and cleats on either side of the traveler for fastening the control ropes on either side thereof, and cleat releasers on the traveler car, being movable relative to the cleats, and being operable in response to movement of the traveler car to release the cleats on one side of the traveler, while leaving the cleats on the other side of the traveler undisturbed. Also disclosed is a cam cleat having a cam cleat releaser movable relative thereto for opening of the cam cleat from a remote location.

Abstract: A gripping collar for electric cables and the like comprises coaxial pieces held axially together but rotatable relative to one another, the pieces having eccentric holes which define a passage through the collar. A cable or other member to be gripped can be inserted in the passage when the holes are aligned, and then gripped by relatively rotating the pieces.
