Patent number: 12104675Abstract: A finely-adjustable cord retracting and deploying device includes a base, a reel, a pawl disk, a knob and a control member. The base includes a first accommodating chamber, a ratchet part, a first threading hole, and a second threading hole. The reel is provided with a winding region configured to store a cord. The pawl disk includes a pawl arm. The pawl arm can move along the ratchet part to control a length of retraction and deployment of a cord. The knob can drive the reel to rotate to retract or deploy the cord. The control member is arranged between the reel and the base. When the knob is turned, the control member can move between a bottom plate and a top plate to control a total length of retraction or deployment of the cord.Type: GrantFiled: February 22, 2024Date of Patent: October 1, 2024Assignee: SHENZHEN ETIE TECHNOLOGY LTD.Inventor: Feng Xiang

Patent number: 11903451Abstract: A reel based closure device includes a housing, a tension member, a spool that is rotatably positioned within the housing, and a tightening component that is positioned axially above the spool and that is operably coupled therewith so that an operation of the tightening component causes the spool to rotate within the housing to wind the tension member about the spool. The reel based closure device also includes a coupling component that is separate from the tension member and that frictionally engages with a distal end of the tension member so that the coupling component is removably fixed to the tension member. The spool component includes a coupling feature within which the coupling component is positioned to attach the tension member to the spool.Type: GrantFiled: July 20, 2022Date of Patent: February 20, 2024Assignee: BOA Technology, Inc.Inventors: Thomas Pollack, Eric Whewell, Randon Kruse, Mark Clementi, Josef Duller, Brendan Hoskens, David Roland, Mark Soderberg

Publication number: 20130062925Abstract: A tongue for a seat belt device is provided with a tongue main body that is insertable within a buckle, and a train-around portion through which an intermediate portion of a webbing is inserted. The train-around portion includes a first shaft is fixedly mounted between a pair of opposing walls, and a second shaft that is movably mounted between the walls. The webbing is slidably bent 180° around the first fixed shaft. When tension of the webbing exceeds a predetermined magnitude or greater, the movable second shaft engages the webbing and increases a bending angle of the webbing around the first shaft to an angle greater than 180° thereby increasing frictional resistance between the webbing and the train-around portion.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 7, 2012Publication date: March 14, 2013Applicant: Kabushiki Kaisha Tokai-Rika-Denki-SeisakushoInventor: Seiji HORI

Patent number: 8272108Abstract: An adjustable link assembly for use with a flat cross-section shock cord or other strap formed of elastomeric material. The adjustable link attaches the cord to a load-bearing member, such as a hook or other fitting, which may be formed integrally therewith. The link assembly includes a body member having an entrance/exit passage for the strap, and a sliding crossbar over which the free end of the strap is routed. When the main leg of the strap is tensioned, the crossbar is drawn against a stationary bridge piece of the body member, the crossbar and bridge piece having cooperating sloped surfaces that are angled in a reverse direction from a straight line path from the top of the crossbar to the opening of the entrance/exit passage. The cooperating faces thus force the strap into a reverse bend or kink, which locks the strap in position so long as the main leg of the strap is subjected to tension.Type: GrantFiled: October 17, 2007Date of Patent: September 25, 2012Inventors: Kenneth George Langtry, Michael Alan Langtry

Patent number: 6802109Abstract: A self-locking fixing loop with adjustment of an attachment strap comprises a base equipped with a clasp for hooking a retaining ring thereon, and an operating button movable between a closed position and an open position of the loop, respectively to hold and release said retaining ring. A spring locks the operating button in the closed position, and a ring adjusts the length of the strap, said ring being inserted between the button and the base opposite the clasp.Type: GrantFiled: August 12, 2003Date of Patent: October 12, 2004Assignee: ZedelInventors: Jean-Marc Hede, Paul Petzl

Patent number: 6256842Abstract: A hooking device comprises a male hook (1) attached to one side of the opening of a garment (F) and a female hook (4) attached to the other side of the opening in such a way that it can be hooked to and unhooked from said male hook (1). The male hook (1) comprises a male hook base (11), a male hook main body (21) and a spring (31). On the male hook base (11), a groove (12) housing the spring (31) is longitudinally formed. The male hook main body (21) secures a space for housing the spring (31) between itself and the male hook base (11) and is provided with a hooking piece (22) for hooking to said female hook (4). The spring (31) is housed in said male hook base (11) in such a way that it elastically controls the sliding movement of the male hook main body (21) with respect to the male hook base (11).Type: GrantFiled: December 29, 1999Date of Patent: July 10, 2001Assignee: Morito Co., Ltd.Inventor: Toshiyuki Ina

Patent number: 5774947Abstract: A device for adjusting a length of webbing, comprising a generally U-shaped body formed from two side arms connected by an end arm. A transverse bar having a gripping surface is mounted between the two side arms. A connecting device such as a buckle or hook is attached to the ends of the side arms. A pivotable plate is mounted between the two side arms and in between the transverse bar and connecting device. The pivotable plate has a gripping surface that contacts the gripping surface of the transverse bar. A release device is mounted on at least one side arm for selectively pivoting the pivotable plate. A length of webbing threaded through the device is securely held between the gripping surfaces of the transverse bar and pivotable plate until the release means is actuated. The friction from the gripping surfaces and pressure from the pivotable plate prevents the webbing from slipping out of the device even under tension from all angles. The release device permits simple adjustment of the webbing.Type: GrantFiled: November 14, 1997Date of Patent: July 7, 1998Assignee: National Molding Corp.Inventor: Joseph Anscher
