Rack Bar Patents (Class 24/272)
  • Patent number: 8635750
Abstract: A device for handling or storing one or more items, has a pair of generally rigid jaw members each having a hinge end and an outer end. The jaw members have a first, open position in which the outer ends are spaced apart to define a receiving space and a plurality of closed positions. The jaw members are self aligned and one of them has an engagement member to engage the other. The engagement member is separate from either jaw member, and may therefore be made of a different material.

  • Patent number: 8246095
Abstract: A cable clasp comprises a tail including an engagement face. The cable clasp further comprises a head including a handle that connects to the tail and defines a mouth opening into which the tail is movable. The cable clasp is biased towards a closed-loop position in which at least a portion of the tail is disposed in the mouth opening. The head further includes a lock having a catch engageable with the engagement face in a lock position to: 1) prevent motion of the tail relative to the head in a first direction, and 2) permit motion of the tail relative to the head in a second direction opposite the first direction by sliding the catch over the engagement face. The catch and the engagement face are also disengageable in a release position to permit motion of the tail relative to the head in both the first and second directions.

  • Patent number: 8056192
Abstract: An improved clamp constricting objects to be held in place including hoses wires tubes. One embodiment having some or all plastic molded parts one of which is a support base (10) to one side is attached a partially grooved or fully flexible grooved band strap (13) where as the other end is free to enter a band strap entrance port (26) thereby contact is made with a matching grooved rotating cylinder (12) held by two bearings. The band strap (13) advances encircling objects to be held. The support base top (11) is closed and locked by the rapid release hold down top lock (20) confining the grooved molded rotating cylinder (12) engaging a flexible paw (17) allowing advancing rotation only, preventing the grooved molded band strap (13) from retracting. Six sided wrench or tool is inserted into the cylinder cavity (15) forcefully rotating the grooved rotating cylinder (12) advancing the flexible grooved band strap (13) through exit port (27) being held down by band strap retainers (18).

  • Patent number: 7900324
Abstract: A device for handling or storing items uses jaw members that hinge to one of several closed positions in which the inner surface of a first jaw is engaged by an engagement device of the second jaw. An external release member in the second jaw is used to move the engagement device between an engaging and a disengaged position. The second jaw also incorporates a retaining surface, positioned opposite the outer surface of the first jaw when the jaws are closed, which opposes outward flexing of said first jaw member, and thus reduces the opportunity for disengagement due to forces from inside the jaws.

  • Patent number: 6622347
Abstract: A latching device (10) is designed to tension a clamp (11) or the like which has open ends (11A, 11B). The device (10) includes at least one ratchet link (16) pivotally carried by a support (12) which is affixed to one end (11B) of the clamp (11). A handle assembly (41) and a pawl (47) are pivotally carried by a bracket (34) which is affixed to the other end (11A). A yoke (53) is pivotally carried by the handle assembly (41). The pawl (47) is adapted to engage a tooth (22) of the ratchet link (16) to maintain a degree of tension on the clamp, and the yoke (53) engages another tooth (22) such that upon rotation of the handle assembly (46), the yoke (53) pulls the ratchet link (16) and advances the engagement of the pawl (47) to another tooth (22). In view of the relationship of the various pivoting axes, the handle assembly (41) is of the “overcenter” type such that when the desired tension of the clamp (11) is reached, the handle assembly (41) may be locked in place.

  • Patent number: 6516498
Abstract: A cable clamp has two identical moulded components that can be clamped together about a cable. Each component has a yoke with a ratchet bar at one end and two short arms at its opposite end spaced by a gap and having ratchet teeth on their inner faces. The ratchet bars on each component extend in the gap between the arms on the other component and the cable extends through the aperture between the two yokes and between the two ratchet bars. The yokes can be squeezed together about the cable, causing the ratchet bars to slide over the engaging teeth, which prevents the two components being subsequently separated.
