The main bolt can have a footer configured to contact the structure, which can be movable between a first configuration in which the footer is nested within a pocket of the mounting member and a second configuration in which at least a portion of the footer is positioned outside of the pocket.

The spread restrictor braces contain 45 degree upward bends to create a space between the adjustable circumferential bands and the pipe for the coupling which serve to prevent separation of the pipe connection under pressure conditions. The pipe joint restraint assembly may be tightened by a fastener assembly containing fully threaded bolts, a barrel nut, and a trunnion.

Each loop having a portion progressively traversing a seat element as said clamp is adjusted by a radially-disposed screw threadedly engaging a nut and bearing upon the seat element. The traversing portions are maintained at equal length to stabilize the screw against tipping and a mechanical interlock configuration of bends retains the nut against torsion-induced angular displacement.

    Abstract: A pipe fastener for securing pipes along walls, ceilings or the like, having top and bottom members each having two generally broad, flat sides extending at approximately forty-five degree angles from a middle portion and a base portion, respectively. The four sides have a plurality of spaced, parallel slots with the slots in the top member being selectively engageable with the corresponding slots in the bottom member, thus forming an adjustable enclosure for receiving a pipe. A set screw is provided in the bottom member and disposed perpendicular to the pipe for securing the pipe within the fastener, thus providing both initial and final adjustability features. The pipe fasteners have been designed for use with common attachment devices, such as beam clamps or toggle bolts, and the fasteners can be connected in series for hanging or securing additional pipes along the same route.

    Abstract: A saddle or U-bolt clamp is formed from a unitary sheet metal stamping folded to provide hexagonal sleeve formations which receive the legs of the bolt in axially slidable relation. Torque transmitted to the ends of the sleeve formations as the securing nuts are drawn up on the legs of the bolt against the saddle will construct the saddle and U-bolt's bight around the telescoped tubing parts of the exhaust system of vehicles for which such a clamp commonly is used. The heavy duty use for which such clamp is required is permitted even in those critical applications where the transverse profile of the clamp must be substantially reduced or restricted without loss of efficacy and strength of the clamp.

    Abstract: Clips are known in which a worm wheel is meshed with teeth provided on an end portion of a band for encircling the member to be clamped, but such clips are relatively costly to produce and problems arise in maintaining the band threads meshed with the worm. Various clips are described in which an end portion of the band is provided on one side with external screw thread portions which are complementary to the internal screw threads of a nut through which the band end portion extends. The opposite end of the band may be integral with a body on which the nut is supported, or it may be identical to the first end portion also be meshed with the nut threads, so that both end portions of the band are drawn through the nut on turning of the nut.

    Abstract: A bowling aid device and method are operative to circumferentially compress the knuckle portion of a bowler's digit and reduce the same prior to insertion of the digit into the corresponding digit hole of a bowling ball. The device comprises a flexible and inextensible strip-like or ring-like compression member adapted to be applied completed around the knuckle and adjustable locking means operative to tighten the compression member in wrap-around compressive engagement with the knuckle for a preselected period of time. The resultant circumferential reduction of the knuckle provides optimum sliding engagement of the reduced digit within the corresponding digit hole in the bowling ball and improved bowling performance.

    Abstract: A saddle for a U-bolt clamp is constituted of a pair of tubular housings arranged to receive and slide axially upon the legs of a U-bolt having a semicircular bight, with the housings connected by a web portion consisting of a pair of parallel planar sections of sheet steel welded together in full face contact and extending transversely between the housings integral therewith. The upper (bight facing) edge of each planar section is curved as a semicircular recess curved on the radius of the U-bolt bight. The lower portion of each planar web section is, for the major portion of its length between the tubular housings, doubled back upon itself in flat face contact with the outer face of its associated planar web section, thus providing a double thickness for each web section throughout the area covered by the double back portion and materially reinforcing the entire web portion of the saddle both horizontally and vertically with four thicknesses of the sheet steel from which the saddle is made.
