  • Patent number: 4195393
Abstract: A fastening of the jubilee clip type in which the ends of the clamping strip are bent into pockets around filler pieces through which a tightening screw is threaded. To promote ready assembly and simple manufacture of such clips the holes and apertures in the filler pieces and clamping strip for the passage of the tightening screw are marginally formed by countersinking, chamfering, and flanging for quick positive engagement.

  • Patent number: 4186468
Abstract: A ring clamp has a pair of flexible sheet-metal strips formed into a ring with one end of each strip juxtaposed with the one end of the other strip, and the other end of each strip lying intermediate the ends of the other strips. The buckles are each formed of a pair of sheet-metal parts one of which has ends bent over and formed with channels into which fit similar channels of another latch part whose ends are in turn bent over the first part for locking-together of the entire buckle into a rigid unit without the use of welding or rivets. Furthermore each buckle has inwardly directed teeth that can bite into the object being clamped. When the ends of the clamp are drawn together to tighten it around an object the two buckles are tightly pressed against the object and prevent sliding of the two strips relative to each other.

  • Patent number: 4076291
Abstract: A sealing ring assembly for an electric meter including a pair of radially projecting spaced ears having aligned rivet holes through which an elongated rivet is received. The rivet, of substantially hard material, such as case-hardened steel, is held in position by a sleeve, fitted over the free end of the rivet, and a set screw in the sleeve radially bearing against the rivet, the set screw being a shear-headed type in which the head has been sheared off substantially flush with the radial exterior surface of the sleeve.

  • Patent number: 4008585
Abstract: A locking cover for the ends of an electric meter retaining ring comprising a housing for assembly over the ends. The housing has an internal bracket with apertures aligned with a side aperture in the housing and positioned to be aligned with apertures in the outturned ends of the retaining ring to receive a locking member. The internal bracket retains the housing in position on the meter ring and prevents axial movement of the locking member and is so positioned that the outer end of the locking member when assembled, is spaced at or inside of the outer surface of the housing wall. A collar is assembled into the side aperture and extends outwardly therefrom. The collar is provided with apertures to allow a seal to be assembled across the collar over the end of the locking member disposed therein so that the seal must be broken to remove the locking member, and will provide evidence of attempts to remove the locking cover.
