The circular disk is substantially concealed by an enlarged head of the retainer pin and hence the slider is sightly in appearance. The mounting hole in which the retainer pin is firmly fitted extends through a guide post of the slider body so that the pull tab is firmly retained on the slider body against detachment even when the pull tab is manipulated with a severe pulling force.

    Abstract: A locking slider assembly is shown for use with a slide fastener having separable fastener elements having a slider body, upper and lower spaced parallel wings joined at their front ends on the body. A pair of upstanding body tabs are upstruck from the upper wing which also has a front and rear opening therethrough. A leaf spring has a down turned nose terminating in a downwardly bent spring prong for engaging the fastener elements of the slide fastener. A spring means extends off the leaf spring rearwardly of the down turned nose and passes into the forward openings of the upper wing and is positioned to be engaged by the upstanding body tabs on the upper wing. A spring biasing extension is in engagement with the upper wing to impart spring loading to the spring prong to assure engagement with the fastener elements.

    Abstract: A device for opening and closing a slide fastener or zipper which has a pull tab with an aperture through it consists of an elongated shaft with a spiralled end, preferably wound about the longitudinal axis of the shaft. The spiralled winding preferably extends about an extension of this axis but may alternatively wind about the shaft itself. The winding is spirally insertable into and removable from the aperture in the pull tab. The spiral may be helical rather than tapered. The coils of the winding may be tapered toward the tip of the helical end of the shaft so as to maximize the coupling effect between the coils and the apertured tab. A spherical tip may be provided at the end of the coils to further prevent the possibility of snagging. The other end of the shaft may include a semi-circular extension adapted to removably suspend the device from a clothes rod. Alternatively, the other end of the shaft may include a slotted extension for facilitating manipulation of the device with the fingers.

The engaging end is curved such that considerable pressure is exerted by its point onto the tab surface.
