    Abstract: A zip fastener may include a first slider disposed to slide lengthwise along a pair of stringers, and which includes one of a male part and a complementary female part. The other of the male part and the female part is formed on either a member, which may be a fixture fixed to the stringers, or a second slider. The male coupling part includes a neck adjacent an enlarged head, and the female coupling part includes a transverse slot with broad and narrow sections. In a two-handed operation, the male and female parts are mutually engaged to connect the first slider and the member by relative transverse movement, to pass the male part through a mouth of the transverse slot. When latched is closed in this way, axial separation of the first slider from the member is precluded.

    Abstract: The CTF Flip-N-Zip slider enables the purchasers of a zipper with the CTF Flip-N-Zip slider installed to disconnect at least one side of a zipped zipper and return it to the starting position. Current fixed sliders are very hard to fix if a foreign object jams the zipper or if the zipper opens behind the slider. CTF Flip-N-Zip slider requires only that the owner disengage the lock and remove either the top or bottom plates or half plate depending on the design. This is shown in the drawings for a releasable latch pin of the slider. The owner would then return the zipper to the starting position and reattach and lock the slider and start over using the same slider. Other designs currently in consideration are push button releases, hinged plates with hidden lever, draw activated releases, etc. Sliders will be made to fit all available zippers and zipper materials.

    Abstract: A thermoplastic bag having a zipper that is operated by a slider is provided with end termination clips that firmly holds the two zipper elements together to resist stresses applied by normal use and also stops the slider from going off past the end of the zipper. The end termination clip is formed by clamps consisting of plastic members between which are sandwiched the zipper and fin and wherein the clamping members are held together by a plastic rivet through the film. In one embodiment the end termination clips include hook structure for engaging a detent in the slider which provides the bag user with the feel of a definite parking position for the slider when the bag is closed.

    Abstract: An end stop for slide fasteners includes a rectangular block molded on a portion of folded inner longitudinal tape edges including a plurality of coupling elements mounted thereon, and an integral peripheral seat attached to opposed stringer tapes. The block has an end wall engageable with the slider, and a recess extending in the end wall and defined by and between the block and a portion of the peripheral seat. The portion of the peripheral seat terminates slightly short of the end wall of the block with the result that the slider is brought into abutment with the block without interference with the peripheral seat. The recess serves to absorb shock force which would otherwise be transmitted directly to the peripheral seat when the slider impinges on the block.
