Patent number: 6449817Abstract: A securing equipment for a heat dissipator of a CPU includes a middle pressing part, an L-shaped removing part, and a first and a second holed connecting part at two ends of the middle part. The whole body of the equipment is made by punching and pressing a stainless spring steel. The removing part sticks up from a lower end of the second part, and fixedly abuts the second part and has a hole communicating with the hole of same. The. holes of both the first and the second parts engage a respective fixing protrusion of a socket, which a CPU is fitted onto; thus, the middle pressing part presses a heat dissipator disposed on the CPU to fix same in position. The upper portion of the removing part is depressed and pushed towards the middle part to separate the second hole from the corresponding fixing protrusion for removing the securing member from the heat dissipator.Type: GrantFiled: July 11, 2001Date of Patent: September 17, 2002Inventor: Hsien-Keng Hsu

Patent number: 6058579Abstract: A snap latch device has a handle with a pair of cam members extending from a lower end. The device also has a flexible snap which protrudes from the handle. The front end of the snap has a barbed lip. The device is designed to interlock a shuttle assembly to a stationary chassis. The device is pivotally mounted to the shuttle which carries a board with connectors. The device is movable between an engaged position and a retracted position. In the engaged position, the cam members engage an end wall on the chassis and the snap inserts through and engages a hole in the shuttle. The mechanical interlock between the cam members and the end wall rigidly secures the shuttle in the chassis. The device is moved to the retracted position by pulling back on the snap to dislodge the barbed lip. This release allows the device to rotate so that the cam members disengage the end wall. After the snap and cam members are clear of the hole and end wall, respectively, the shuttle may be completely removed from the chassis.Type: GrantFiled: March 29, 1999Date of Patent: May 9, 2000Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Brandon Joel Brocklesby, Steven Michael Christensen, Ronald Armand Roy

Patent number: 5692272Abstract: The invention is a two-part clip for the purpose of securely holding fabric or sheet material without damaging said material. The clip consists of a U-shaped body with an angled cavity and a wedge which is angled to fit snugly into the cavity. An additional component of the invention is a section of rope which is passed through a hole, first in the wedge, then through a hole in the body of the clip. The fabric to be secured is inserted into the cavity on either the top or the bottom of the wedge. As tension is applied to the rope, the wedge becomes firmly seated in the cavity, thus securing the fabric.Type: GrantFiled: December 16, 1996Date of Patent: December 2, 1997Inventor: Lydia A. Woods

Patent number: 5689864Abstract: A clamp secures objects against a structure adjacent to and on either side f a rib of the structure. First and second arms are pivotally coupled to one another at a pivot point. The arms define a pair of opposing jaws that engage the rib and a pair of levers extending away from the opposing jaws on either side of the rib. A threaded member cooperating with each lever is rotated towards the structure. An object is positioned between each threaded member and the structure. In this way, the threaded members press the objects securely against the structure as the opposing jaws grip the rib.Type: GrantFiled: March 3, 1997Date of Patent: November 25, 1997Assignee: The United States of America as represented by the Secretary of the NavyInventor: James G. Patent number: 5655271Abstract: A clothing accessory includes a molded plastic plate and a molded plastic ring. The periphery of the plate is provided with a first engagement surface and the interior of the ring is provided with a second engagement surface. The relative dimensions of the plate and the ring are chosen such that the fabric of an article of clothing can be engaged between the first and second engagement surfaces. More specifically, when the ring is placed on one side of a fabric and the plate is placed on the other side of a fabric, the plate and ring may be pressed together so that the plate is frictionally engaged inside the ring by the fabric of the clothing. According to a presently preferred embodiment, the engagement surfaces are V-shaped. I.e. one of the surfaces is a concave V-shaped groove and the other is a convex V-shaped edge.Type: GrantFiled: May 7, 1996Date of Patent: August 12, 1997Inventors: Susan Maxwell-Trumble, Allen R. Patent number: 5634244Abstract: The invention relates to a connecting clasp for beaded chains, which include a cord and bead bodies, wherein two sleeves, a socket sleeve and a plug sleeve, have an at least geometrical longitudinal axis, and can be plugged one into the other in the direction of the longitudinal axis, wherein the sleeves respectively have a sleeve shell with a sleeve head integrally connected to it, and at least one respective bead body can be received in the sleeves, wherein the internal diameter of the sleeves is greater than the external diameter of the bead bodies, and the sleeve shell of the socket sleeve has a shell internal surface and the sleeve shell of the plug sleeve has a shell external surface, respectively with releasably interengaging profiles. A bore is passed through the sleeve head along the longitudinal axis, to receive the cord, and a slot is formed on one side through the sleeve shell to the bore, for the introduction of the cord into the bore.Type: GrantFiled: August 27, 1996Date of Patent: June 3, 1997Inventors: Rudolf Fetsch, Richard Frank
