  • Patent number: 10901302
Abstract: A clamp assembly removably couples to a sheet of material. An item, such as a body camera, mounted on the clamp assembly may be coupled to the sheet of material via the clamp assembly. A sheet of material is provided adjacent a base of the clamp assembly. An insert is provided adjacent the sheet of material on a side opposite the base. A clamp element is connected to the base and moves between an open position and closed position. Movement of the clamp element to the closed position resists removal of the base from the sheet of material. Embodiments of the present disclosure also involve clamp assembly bases, as well as systems for securing an item, such as a body camera, to the sheet of material.

  • Patent number: 7784158
Abstract: A spool has a pair of spaced apart plates mounted on opposing sides of a central core. A flexible fabric sheet is positioned in contact with a face of one of the plates of the spool and across a peripheral edge of the plate. A clip includes a pair of legs joined at one end and extending around the core of the spool with the fabric thereby forced into contact with the core. With the legs so inserted between the plates the fabric is captured in the spool so that the spool and clip are not able to move on the fabric or be dislodged from it. The legs terminate with toe curved in opposing lateral directions and which are able to be mutually interlocked in an overlapping attitude.

  • Publication number: 20080148535
Abstract: This invention provides a clip for joining tubular members that employs living hinges that are part of a unitary clip including jaws and a base spring. The jaws are joined by a center living hinge and each jaw is also joined along a surface opposite its gripping surface to a cantilevered end of the base spring by a side-mounted living hinge. When the clip jaws are in a fully open orientation, with the center hinge at a maximum distance away from the base spring, the user biases the central hinge toward the base spring. The base spring ends are thereby biased away from each other, and after the jaws rotate about their living hinges through a position of maximum spread in the base spring ends, the spring ends rebound, forcing the jaws downward toward the base spring, and into a fully closed orientation. The clip includes a base that can be an anchor that embeds in foam of an upholstery cushion, or can have an adhesive that allows it to be secured to a structure, in the case of a pipe or conduit clamp.

  • Patent number: 7222399
Abstract: A merchandising hanger has a planar surface adapted to receive printed indicia thereon and characterized by having a top and a base. The top of the planar surface is formed as a hook, cutout, or hole so as to allow the merchandising hanger to be suspended from a conventional merchandising rack. A tab extends from the base of the planar surface and includes a stud integral with the tab and a stud-receiving aperture in another portion of the tab. The aperture has a flange associated therewith. Intermediate between the stud and the aperture is a tab portion having a thickness less than the tab portion proximal to the planar surface. The relative thicknesses of tab portions and the interaction between the stud and complementary aperture afford a theft deterrent without compromising the merchandising function.

  • Patent number: 5199139
Abstract: A fastening device or apparatus wherein mechanical connection and/or disconnection or electrical connection and/or disconnection is accomplished as a result of the deformation of an oval/ellipse shaped component--the deformable component--which may preferably have an elliptical aperture therethrough. Deformation may result from the application of a deforming force which causes the decrease in length of the major axis and a consequent increase in length of the minor axis of the ellipse. The deforming force may be applied by any known means such as by magnetic fields applied where the deformable component may have incorporated therein material which is sensitive and reactive to such magnetic fields or by the application of mechanical pressure from a piston driven by magnetic forces or hydraulic forces and/or forces created by temperature changes such as are known and found in a class of materials characterized as "SHAPE MEMORY ALLOYS".

  • Patent number: 5113553
Abstract: A fastening device or apparatus having at least two parts or components wherein reliance is on the deformation of an oval/ellipse shaped aperture which deformation results from the insertion of a stud component into the aperture which is formed within a socket component. The present invention permits the attachment of the two components and the release of such attached components both steps being achievable using the squeezing or pinching forces on only the periphery of so called socket component and exertable with the use of one hand; more specifically the use of the fingers of one hand.
