Patent number: 8732917Abstract: A clamp for attaching solar panel grids to standing seam roof structures. The clamp includes opposing clamp halves having inter-engageable projections and recesses. One or more fasteners engage the halves to draw them together. A first set of recesses on one clamp half receives a first set of projections on the other half. Such actuation also causes outwardly-facing grooves on the ends of the major and minor jaws to engage a suitably-shaped configured slot on a configured tube or other structure. Such preceding action connects a configured rectangular tube and a structure having a suitably-shaped configured slot by the use of the intermediate major and minor jaws. Provisions are also made for snapping engagement of the pivotally opposed major and minor jaws of biased open major and minor jaws with a suitably-shaped configured slot.Type: GrantFiled: January 31, 2001Date of Patent: September 3, 2002Inventor: Joel W. Patent number: 6440145Abstract: A medical instrument and its method of use to remove flaps of skin. The medical instrument has the form of a broad faced clamp that has two narrow opposing surfaces. The medical instrument is opened and a flap of skin is placed between the narrow opposing surfaces. The narrow opposing surfaces are biased toward one another with enough force to stop the flow of blood into the flap of skin, The bias between opposing surfaces is maintained over time until the flap of skin dies and withers. Once the flap of skin has died and the blood vessels no longer flow to the flap of skin, the medical instrument is removed. The remaining dead skin is then cut away from the body. The excess flap of skin is therefore removed without ever having produced an open incision that can be contaminated.Type: GrantFiled: April 17, 2000Date of Patent: August 27, 2002Inventor: Wagdy A. Patent number: 6286192Abstract: A clamp assembly for installation at any position along the length of a slot defined by surfaces of a host structure or other structure. The clamp assembly either can receive a mounting rod for supporting objects or can itself include a mounting rod for supporting objects. In one embodiment the clamp assembly includes a two-piece clamp body composed of a pair of opposing substantially mirror-image jaws each having an inner surface with an arcuate channel and a tooth juxtaposing the arcuate channel. The arcuate channels cooperate to accept and frictionally engage a mounting rod to be affixed to the host structure, and the teeth are for entering into a slot defined by surfaces of the host structure. A tightening member is provided for forcing the jaws together. In an alternate embodiment the clamp assembly includes a one-piece clamp body and a mounting rod.Type: GrantFiled: December 14, 2000Date of Patent: September 11, 2001Inventor: Joel W. Pfister

Patent number: 6202266Abstract: A versatile user-adjustable clamp for clamping accessories to the panels of ready-to-assemble furniture articles, and other surfaces such as countertops, has a main body member, a jaw member, and a knob. The main body member has a substantially spool-shaped section with accessory interface means at opposing ends thereof, and a rectangular section that projects tangentially from the spool-shaped section. The spool-shaped section of the main body member telescopingly receives the jaw member, and has a knob-receiving aperture. The knob is rotatably secured within the knob aperture and provides a means for actuating the telescopic movement of the jaw member relative to the main clamp body. The jaw member includes a flat surface interface that is oriented parallel to the rectangular section of the main clamp body, and has a separate accessory interface means therein.Type: GrantFiled: July 7, 1999Date of Patent: March 20, 2001Assignee: Kenlin Group, Inc.Inventors: David J. Patent number: 6170132Abstract: A clamp for holding at least one laser component during a facet coating process. The clamp includes a first elongate member for contacting a first side of the laser component(s) and a second elongate member for contacting a second side of the laser component(s). The clamp also includes a magnetic member overlying a third side of the laser component(s), and at least one magnet disposed adjacent to the magnetic member, so that the magnetic member is drawn towards the third side of the laser component(s). The first and second elongate members, the magnetic member and the at least one magnet hold the laser component(s) therebetween.Type: GrantFiled: September 1, 1999Date of Patent: January 9, 2001Assignee: Lucent Technologies Inc.Inventor: George J.
