Pivoted Or Rotated Element Patents (Class 24/516)
  • Patent number: 10000251
Abstract: A cruise control for a vehicle having a mounted rotatable accelerator sleeve and throttle housing which is mounted to a handlebar. The cruise control mounts entirely to the accelerator sleeve and rotates in perfect unity with the throttle when it is rotated. The cruise control is mounted between the throttle housing and the rubber/plastic grip's inner end, directly onto the accelerator sleeve. When the single button of the cruise control is pressed, the cruise control engages and uses friction against the surface of the throttle housing to hold the throttle in place. The operator can force the throttle to rotate by overpowering the friction caused by the cruise control, or preferably, they can disengage the cruise control by pressing the single button again, resetting the cruise control to be engaged again by pressing the single button.

  • Patent number: 9267517
Abstract: A closing actuator for a sheet material clamp has a first threaded orifice in a lower clamping jaw with a threaded interior wall, a second non-threaded orifice formed in an upper clamping jaw which has a retention groove formed around the non-threaded interior wall; and an actuating screw with a retention shoulder formed between the head and the threaded shank, such that the threaded shank mates with the threaded first orifice in the lower clamping jaw and the retention shoulder snaps into the retention groove, thereby capturing the actuating screw in the upper clamping jaw when threaded into the lower clamping jaw. The second orifice may be a slotted or oval shape to allow the actuating screw to pass through the upper jaw at an angle other than perpendicularly to the upper jaw as the jaws assume various angles of relationship to each other during clamp closing and opening.

  • Patent number: 8381372
Abstract: A camming clamp has a fixed jaw, a pair anchored in the fixed jaw, and a moving jaw threaded onto the guides. A levered cam is threaded onto at least one guide. A backing surface is threaded onto the same one guide. It sandwiches the levered cam between itself and the moving jaw. An adjustable locking provision locks the backing surface at fixed positions along this guide with the levered cam. Wherein, the levered cam has a cam head with an over-center axis such that, when rolled on one side of the over-center axis the camming clamp is slack and adapted to position the jaws on opposite sides of an object to be clamped, and, when rolled over the other side of the over-center axis the jaws clamp tight on said object. When the pulling sheet is pulled, through the leverage effect the swivel rod optionally abuts against the bottoms of the support arms or swivels the passive sheet while the swivel rod is rotated, so the mobile end of the mobile clipping sheet generates an upward or downward movement, and the teeth lines of the mobile end and the teeth rows of the base board are engaged or forms a slit. When the mobile clipping sheet of the pacifier clip is clipped on a thicker object, through the leverage effect, the pair of support arms of the mobile clipping sheet applies a clockwise force to the swivel rod disposed below the support arms, so the abutting force between the two components is enhanced and the clipping effect is also increased.

Abstract: A locking trolley for gripping and locking the hooked ends of hangers in a garment bag includes a C-shaped frame member and a jaw member extending forward from the rear of the C-shaped frame member. Gripping pads for gripping the hooked ends of hangers are located between the lower horizontal portion of the C-shaped frame member and the jaw member. A locking arrangement operatively moves the jaw member toward the lower horizontal portion of the frame member to cause the gripping pads to grip the hanger ends and also locks the jaw member in the hanger gripping position. The locking arrangement preferably takes the form of a locking lever pivotably connected to the forward end of the jaw member. The locking lever pivots between the jaw member and the upper horizontal portion of the frame member to hold the jaw member in the locked position. To release the locked relationship the locking lever is grasped and pivoted between the jaw member and the upper horizontal portion of the frame member.

  • Patent number: 4546977
Abstract: A racket stringing machine utilizing an improved retaining standard for securing a racket to be strung in a fixed position. The retaining standard includes a vise portion and a clamp portion. The clamp portion has an attached rod that fits into a hole in the vise. The clamp portion serves to maintain the racket to be strung in a fixed position on the vise. The vise also includes a slot into which a dog is inserted. The dog bears against the clamp rod and fixes it in a particular location. A handle having a cam portion is also provided. The cam portion of the handle engages the dog so as to allow selective engagement with the clamp rod. Additionally, frame retainers of different sizes and shapes are provided that allow rackets of various configurations to be strung with the same stringing machine.

  • Patent number: 4497092
Abstract: The disclosure concerns a device for clamping two axially telescoping rods in a selected telescoped position, wherein the device includes a case supported at the end of the outside one of the two rods and the case encloses an annular bush wrapped around the inside one of the two rods. One side of the bush is open for defining an axial gap. Terminal flanges extend away from the bush at opposite sides of the gap. A shaft extends from the second of the terminal portions, through the first of the terminal portions and then outside the case. A two-position cam is journaled to the shaft and is shaped to engage the exterior of the case. As the cam is moved between its two positions, it selectively draws the terminal portion flanges together or permits them to move apart for selectively clamping or releasing the bush on the rod. A spring normally biases the terminal portion flanges apart.

  • Patent number: 4492005
Abstract: The present invention provides a conduit clamp comprising means for securing a conduit such as a hose to another structure, a pair of jaws arranged to be clamped around a conduit, means on one side of a first jaw arranged to engage pivotally with complementary means on the corresponding side of a second jaw, means for closing the jaws into clamping engagement with a conduit which closing means comprises an open sided recess in one jaw, a locking pin mounted in an aperture in the other jaw and a lever pivotally attached to the locking pin, the arrangement being such that when the lever is moved to a first position the locking pin is released from and then pivoted away from the recess and when the lever is moved to a second position the locking pin is moved into the recess and then locked thereinto. The clamp of the present invention is particularly envisaged for sub-sea operation such as in oil drilling but it can be used for mining and industrial applications which are not underwater.

Abstract: A novel suspender fastener is disclosed. The suspender fastener comprises a first lever, a second lever, and a ratchet. The first and second levers are pivotally connected in a manner such that a fulcrum is formed therebetween. A first pair of mutually proximate end portions of the levers are longitudinally spaced from the fulcrum, and form a pair of jaws for engaging a garment therebetween. The ratchet preferably includes a loop for securing a suspender thereto. The ratchet is variably engageable with the first and second levers in a manner such that co-action between the ratchet and the levers causes the jaws to progressively tighten.

  • Patent number: 4487523
Abstract: The present invention provides a clamp which can be used to secure an accessory member to an abductor bar of an orthopedic-surgical table. The clamp includes a clamp block pivotally mounted on the clamp and oriented with respect to the clamp to clamp an object therebetween. A lever having a cam surface is mounted on the clamp so that the cam surface coacts with the internal mechanism of the clamp to orient the clamp block in an unclamped, intermediate and clamped position. When the clamp is in the intermediate position, the clamp loosely engages the clamped object so that relative motion of the clamp and clamped object can occur. Because the clamp can be stabilized on the clamped object by orienting it in the intermediate position the operator does not need to use a second hand to prevent the clamp from falling off the clamped object while the first hand positions and tightens the clamp. Thus, the clamp can be secured to the clamped object in a one handed operation.
